What are the chances of Moore running for president?
Is it too late for him to become a candidate? If there is still time, do you believe (no wishful thinking) that Moore will go for it?

3. Because he'd have no chance of winning
he'd just pull votes from * and possibly even cost him Alabama.

like George Wallace did in 1968. God, we are backward.

5. Why run for office and have to straddle the fence...
.. than be like Moore & Limbaugh and get to make $$$$s on whoever is in office doing something you don't like?

It's easier to complain than to do.

6. No chance...
I actually once had the chance to ask him if he'd ever run for office - he gave a flat-out "no". He once served on the City Council and said politics wasn't his business.

7. it wouldn't change anything.....
the people in states that would vote for Moore wouldn't be states that Kerry would carry anyway.

20. Actually, I think the chances are better than 50%
Roy Moore is an egotistical man in need of a job. He needs exposure for his own ego issues, but also to win the gubernatorial race in Alabama. Roy is very pissed off at the GOP right now. The administration did not support him in his 10 coms stunt, and he sees them and being not Christian enough. He has a very real and very large fan base in the South, and could raise a boatload of cash if he declared.

The Constitution Party has its convention at the end of June. Roy has exhausted his appeals to get his job back as chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court, so he has nothing better to do now. The CP has been courting him, and he could make a surprise decision in June to go for it.

What this would do for Moore would be to give him a great amount of cash and exposure for his real plan - Governor of Alabama.

He can't stand Riley - even though Riley is GOP. He would like nothing more than to beat Riley in the GOP primary in 2005. Roy needs this presidential run to keep his name fresh and his supporters excited.

As it is more obvious to anyone without GOP issued rose colored glasses on, Bush is in serious trouble. He probably will not win in 2004. This makes Roy Moore less worried about being a spoiler.

If Roy runs, Alabama goes Kerry. Mississippi goes Kerry, and Georgia goes Kerry.

We want Roy to run.

23. Running for president- no.
Slowly walking, taking long breaks between steps- maybe.

Just because someone can turn a funny phrase and is willing to be caustic, doesn't mean he'd be a good leader- otherwise Andrew Dice Clay would have been Secretary of State.

(Sorry if the Andrew Dice Clay line is too dated for some.)

25. Not anyMoore... get it!... anyway...
...He doesn't really have a chance now, his a clever guy and he should probably wait to run for Alabama Governor and he could win, he's an excellent speaker and really politically isn't that far off from your average Southern GOP'ster, he's a very strong social conservative and economic populist... My I stress very very very strongly that i totally disagree with the guy! that said I kinda respect him, he believes what he believes and doesn't take any bulls*** for it... and he may well be Alabama Governor very soon.. added to this what was the problem with the 10 commandments in the Court room?

DISCLAIMER: Once again I don't agree with the guy but i still respect him, just as i respect Karl Rove or Fidel Castro.
