Democrats: Who would you like to see McCain pick as VP?
Edited on Sun Mar-23-08 09:42 PM by dansolo
Considering McCain's age and health, his VP will be an extremely important aspect of his campaign (that's why general election polls now are basically worthless). Who do you think he will pick, and who would you like to see him pick?

I have a feeling that he would pick either Joe Lieberman or Mike Huckabee. God I wish he would pick Lieberman. Huckabee actually scares me a little. He will bring in the ambivalent conservatives, and he also has pretty high favorable numbers, which may cause people to overlook his hard core theocratic beliefs.

Let me clarify: I am asking this from a Democratic strategic perspective - i.e. who would be worse for McCain in the general election.

22. No
The OP means who, as Democrats, do you want McCain to pick as his VP, in order to benefit Democrats? For example, if he picked David Duke, he would lose 48-50 states, and lose the election. So, therefore, I would like him to pick David Duke. Get it? :)

5. Lieberman! He would lose the far right for sure
We would lose a lot of independents and sour dems, but I think most conservatives would stay home.

7. I think that Dick Cheney will tell McCain who the vice-president
will be. He knows that someone has to protect the family secrets.

I think that Cheney will never die. He must be an alien.

9. Lindsey Graham would set the far right toatlly off...
they are currently hoping McCain picks their idea of a "real conservative". I hope he gives them their worst fear.

12. Roseanne Barr.
She's got to be pretty universally loathed among McCain's base.

I'd say Britney Spears or Paris Hilton, but they're not of age.

14. George Allen
Mr. Maccaca himself. I'm sure the Republicans want to burnish his image to the point where he may actually be a viable candidate for office again.

Failing that, and if B.O. is the Dem nominee, the Republicans will probably choose Michael Steele, failed AA gubernatorial candidate from MD.

24. Has to be one of the radio dittoheads.
It would be paying back for years of service to the Neocons. The question is which one. Limbaugh is too big to fit on the plane and has an acknowledged drug problem. O'Reilly has a Falafal problem. (If you think you Falafal now, just listen to his show.) Maybe the Savage Weiner. He hasn't been caught at anything specifically illegal yet.
