So I was enjoying Easter dinner with the family and my BIL, who almost never talks politics, said "Did you see that governor endorse Obama the other day?"

I said, "You mean Richardson?"

He said, "Yeah, that's the guy. He's a great speaker. He seems to really know what he's talking about. I enjoyed listening to him."

I said, "Yeah, he's a good guy and a great diplomat."

He said, "That's the ticket right there."


My BIL never saw Richardson before and he's not a "political" guy, but he saw something when the two of them stood on that stage together. :D

That's the real reason he ditched his friends the Clinton's. Talk about self serving. He's been aiming for that spot this whole primary season.

4. Richardson owes Hillary Clinton nothing.

Bill (not Hillary) hired him to work in his administration, and Richardson did his work (which, by the way, was for and on behalf of the United States, not Bill Clinton personally) exceedingly well. Are you implying that because Richardson worked in Bill Clinton's administration, he now owes a debt of loyalty to Hillary? That's not loyalty, it's cronyism, and we've already had eight lousy years of that.

You would have never heard of him if it weren't for Bill giving him that opportunity...and he wouldn't be Gov. if it weren't for that either. If he had any sense of decency or loyalty to a good friend he would not had endorsed either one until at least after the PA primary. Some grateful friend he is! He's a back stabber in my book. And you people have the nerve to say Hillary will do anything to win!

*I* have never suggested Hillary will do anything to win. And I stand by my statement that Richardson doesn't owe Hillary anything by virtue of having worked in Bill's administration. His duty was to the government, and he fulfilled that duty. To suggest that he *must* now endorse Hillary and/or must not endorse the person whom he thinks is the better candidate is to condone cronyism.

13. It would be a great ticket

I too first thought that when I saw Richardson on the stage with Obama during Richardson's endorsement. I have always liked Richardson, but that performance better showcased his fine points than say, the debates. As I listened to him speak, I thought the two of them teaming up would be an incredibly fine ticket.

Richardson is known for his diplomatic acts; Obama would naturally gravitate to a person for that trait. He's logical but low-keyed. That's Obama's style. Richardson would never be an embarrassment, but a credit, to an Obama administration. Richardson has foreign affairs credentials; good for Obama's number 2. And, of course, Richardson would help win some of the Hispanic vote.

I certainly think Richardson would be a stellar choice. If he ends of SOS, good for him as well.

I hope Biden and Dodd end up with a spot in an Obama administration. And Edwards of course will make a great AG.

I can see it now, and I am liking it a lot. Al Gore will be a senior statesman advisor....

PS Oh, yes, he needs a female in his cabinet. I like Boxer (who now is a Clinton superdelegate as a result of the California results), also the Governor of Kansas (can't spell her name).
