2. did you see the "video" Jay showed of Obama's visit at John's house
OMG it was histerical, hope this hits You Tube or something.

He "showed" them leapfrogging each other....

OH, he said hes not thinking of running again, but "you never say never".

At beginning he said Elizabeth was doing well, and they are homeschooling the children
right now.

Their kids were with them quite a bit on the trail

11. Maybe their mom wants to spend time with them. Geesh
I know I'd want to homeschool and spend as much time as possible with my kids if I had cancer. Thank goodness Elizabeth is doing well. Plus what kid could find better teachers than John and Elizabeth Edwards.

It's just too damned bad that more adult Americans didn't learn from the Edwards.

5. But... But... But...
The buzz earlier was that Edwards would throw his support to HRC on Leno tonight - you mean that didn't happen? You mean Tweety and his right wing pals were wrong? Man - some folks around here are gonna be pissed!

8. That wasn't coming from Hillary supporters. It was coming from Obama supporters who were
trashing this fine upstanding man because they thought he might, maybe, sorta, kinda, could make an endorsement on Leno tonight.

I for one specifically stated my opinion that he would not.

Rick Stengel of Time Magazine Said on the CMS Edwards to declare for Clinton soon..
Edited on Sun Mar-16-08 11:40 AM by 1776Forever
Did anyone else hear that? It is hard for me to believe Edwards would do that and for what pay off?

He railed against Hillary in the past debates - what is going on?

Here's an excerpt on the debate where Edwards pounded Hillary:

DEM DEBATE: Edwards, Not Obama, Hits Clinton Hardest, Smartest
John Nichols

http://www.thenation.com/blogs/notion?pid=247313

Where Obama was unfocused and ineffectual, John Edwards landed plenty of blows. The former senator from North Carolina began by suggesting that "it's fair" to talk about essential differences between the candidates. Then he highlighted a big one. "(Clinton) says she'll stand up to George Bush," argued Edwards. "In fact, she voted to give George W. Bush the first step to war on Iran..."

Ouch! That reference to Clinton's vote in favor of the Kyl-Lieberman resolution declaring Iran's Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization, which read an awfully lot like a signal to Bush that he has congressional support for an attack on attack Iraq, opened up a highly engaged discussion that saw several of the candidates, led by Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd -- saying in reference to Clinton's vote of five years ago to authorize Bush to attack Iraq: "What you didn't learn by 2002, you should have learned by now" -- aggressively question Clinton's judgement. It was a smart, at times intense dialogue. Kucinich even got in a call for impeaching Bush and Cheney in order to restore the balance of power between the legislative and executive branches on questions of war-making.

But Edwards owned the moment. Accusing Clinton of voting for an Iran resolution that read like it was "written literally by the neo-cons," the 2004 vice presidential nominee declared, "We need to stand up to this president. We need to make it absolutely clear that we will not let Bush, Cheney and this administration invade Iran."

Edwards was identifying himself "as the clear, sharp alternative," observed NBC commentator Domenico Montanaro. "This is wedging going on. (Edwards) might be elbowing Obama out of the way on this issue. (Obama's), albeit reasonable, but tepid answer on this, just wasn't grabbing the spotlight."

"In the competition to see who would be the sharpest Clinton attacker, Edwards won by far," said Newsweek's Howard Fineman, referring to the North Carolinian's reference to Clinton and the neo-cons.

13. I am not lying. All I know, is nearly every thread on the subject I have seen on this board
has been Obama supporters ready to bash Edwards for it. I am very honest on this board, and unbiased since I have admiration for both candidates. I am just shocked at how often people lie on here. I do feel that, while many Clinton supporters are vile, the Obama supporters are worse. I feel like some people on here are taking this election personally and getting "worked up" over it.

But no, the people on DU who have most heavily pushed this issue has been Obama supporters. I certainly made it known that I never believed he'd endorse on Leno. I provided a link for that. Yay for you find a link in which a Hillary supporter discussed it. I hope you didn't pull a muscle stretching. And shame on you for calling me a liar, since I have worked hard on this board, what time I have been posting, building a reputation of being fair and balanced. Including criticising Hillary for her comments on McCain and claiming she should release her tax records... to also being critical of Obama on his missteps regarding Wright. So you should be ashamed of calling me a liar when that is not the case. I have seen far more Obama supporters bad mouthing Edwards than Clinton supporters pushing this idea.

14. I think...
you're missing the point. It didn't come from HRC's campaign or from Obama's campaign - it came from Hardball - Chris M's "Tell me something I don't know" segment. But yesterday there were plenty of HRC supporters ready to do the happy dance - based on the rumor.

15. It would be nice for Hillary supporters
but it wouldn't make any difference. I don't think endorsements really can make a difference for either side at this point. I really kinda wish Edwards were still in the race.
