Seriously makes me wonder about this country and our msm.

We have come a long way in this country, but not nearly as far as I thought we had.

1. It's the "fatal Obama weakness" du jour
They'll be seizing on some other non-story a week from now.

7. Not saying it doesn't have dangerous potential.
You're right. But it's been one thing after another thrown at Obama so far, and so far they've had no real effect on his momentum. I'm guessing this won't either.

5. It's not much different than the stories we got on
Nancy Pelosi's choice of clothing for her first day in the House.

HRC's choice of outfits on the campaign trail.
The "Why doesn't she ever wear a dress?" questions that the media discussed at length.

will be seized on. It'll continue right through to November.

8. This smacks of a religious test.
But, McCain really can't attack Obama with this, should Obama be the nominee in the GE run up...since McCain has some extremely questionable religious backers spouting just the same type of crap...ie: Hagee's case, spewing crap against Catholics and Jews.

It surprises me, why they are using this now to knock out Obama. If they want Clinton, what do they have on her they feel is more damaging to use later?

they'd throw anything out there. But you have a good point; the timing of this is curious.

and then bring out an X-rated woman hating Afrocentric race card player as your spiritual mentor.

10. It seems George Washington got into hot water over his religious beliefs
George Washington got into hot water over his religious beliefs, he wouldn't take communion. Jefferson needed to make his own version of the Bible. So religious controversy in the government started in the beginning of the nation.

It sure seems Hillary's opponent could have found a better religious mentor than this X-rated woman hater who loves to play the race card, it reveals so much about Hillary's opponent and how he has run his campaign.

I often wonder what pleasure people derive from flagrant public lying? You know perfectly well none of this is tue about Rev. Wright, yet you continue to say it. Do you come in your pants when you lie? What's the thrill?

40. I doubt that Obama planned his presidential run...
..back in the days when he was organizing on the South Side
of Chicago.

He had no religious background, but sought out a
community church, one that reflected their values. And that's the point:
Most folks don't choose a church only because they like the pastor.
Most people find a community faith with which they resonate.

I doubt that he sought out Wright to be his mentor; to use religious
terminology (after all, isn't that part of what we're parsing out here?),
God used Wright to bring Obama to Christian faith. The Bible reveals that God
uses flawed people to do God's work.

It's far too easy to judge because we're looking backward. We weren't
there.

Sadly, our current pResident of the White House caught absolutely no
heat at all for all the endorsements and relationships he had with preachers
of questionable ethic (the Jerry FAlwells, the Pat Robertsons, etc).Remember the crap that
has come from the likes of them in regards to the War (necessary to bring Israel into
power, to re-build the temple so JEsus will come again), and their view that Hurrican
Katrina was God's punishment for homosexuality. But do we hear Pat BUchanan bloviating
about that?

I doubt that Wright 'loves to play the race card.' He was dealt the race card from
the day he was born into a racially divided country. 'x-rated woman hater'?
I doubt he has such strong emotions about all women. His critique of
HIllary is politically based: he was suppporting his candidate.

Jeremiah Wright has a strong ethic of prophetic critique of the powers that
be, which is grounded in scripture. He's not the only preacher to point a
finger at the dominating oppression of our government- just look to Martin
Luther King, but now he's a folk hero. Back in the day, he was vilified.

And as to our "Fore-fathers..." most of them weren't Christian; they
were deists. Jefferson made his own version of the Bible because he found
the miracle stores 'irrational.' Heck, Abe Lincoln was never baptised,
and never attended church, yet knew the Bible well.

This turd can't be polished and Hillary's opponent will always be rightly associated with his religious mentor of 20 years.

19. Obama will come out tested and stronger, so far he's countering just 'right'. I don't think most who
...supported him in the first place will see his paster as him.

Also, his speech tommorrow will solidify his "presidential" look and status, he'll look presidential and seem presidential and that will make Hillary look small.

22. "Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion"
James G. Blaine was the Republican presidential candidate in 1884. A supporter, Rev. Samuel Burchard, used the phrase "rum, Romanism, and rebellion" to describe the Democratic party -- meaning that it was the party of anti-Prohibition, Catholicism, and the South. This might have cost Blaine the election, especially because it hurt him among Catholics.

20 years of hate filled speech. His mentor. No flag pin. No hand on heart during Pledge. The first time in my life I'm proud of my country. Poor little black girl from the south side of Chicago. I see a troublesome pattern and I don't like it. Do as I say, not as I do.

30. The Rev. Wright says our government is run by rich white people!
(Oops, he's right about that.)

He said FDR let Pearl Harbor happen!

(Oops, he's right about that, too.)

He called out Bill Clinton for what he did to the black community.

(Well, he's right about that, too -- but Bill DID go to a lot of black churches. Go, Bill! I'm so glad you didn't get mugged until lately when a beautiful black candidate starting whopping @ss in this race . . . :woohoo:)

Most of all, Wright enabled YOGA at Trinity. YOGA! Might as well be a madrasa! With that breathing and focusing. Don't those people also wear TURBANS?

I BET THEY DO! Yoga fascists!

Because Billy Graham, who served as a spiritual advisor to many presidents, both Republican and Democratic, was caught on tape making disparaging comments about Jews.

I have always been proud of the fact that our side routinely beats up on right wing politicians for being being closely associated with radical religious zealots. Of course, now that one of our guys is closely associated with a radical religious zealot, some people here have chosen to fall head over heels in love with religious zealots.
