1. wonderful framing
So now Obama (or his supporters) are supposed to respond to every ... single ... thing ... that the pastor has ever said?

You got lots of posts to create.

2. Making nearly a million bucks a year sounds pretty rich to me.
But then, to a megachurch preacher who drives a Porsche that might not seem like a lot.

3. He earned it and he wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth
but he's still rich and privileged now and to say otherwise is ridiculous.

5. Did he slip through the "oppressive" white net?
How did "they" (as Wright believes) let him slip even further through and make it all the way to becoming the favorite for the presidency at this moment?

9. Some do many don't make it
he had very supportive white grandparents. It's sad and sick but it's racism is still alive and doing pretty well in the USA. It's seems to get a shot in the arm when the republican's are in charge.

11. Look at the educational challenges he had to overcome
Edited on Mon Mar-17-08 09:20 AM by MaryCeleste
That inadequate school he was forced to attend in Hawaii. :sarcasm:

Seriously, the screed that Obama was a poor boy from the hood who made it is BS. However, it doesn't really matter. Its like Hillary's resume inflation, its dumb. What matters is who he is today and what he brings to the table. The same is true for Hillary.

I would love to see the 'bots & 'maniacs take on issues not personalities. The pedestals and candidate worship have to go or we will me in trouble in Nov

6. The Obamite argument that somehow Obama is a victim is ludicrous
Edited on Mon Mar-17-08 08:53 AM by jackson_dem
In addition to that he is a millionaire U.S. senator and the current favorite to become president. These folks think playing the race card will defend him. :wtf: do they smoke? Probably every white not named Bill Clinton would love to swap with Obama. They aren't going to buy the victim card. Nor will Latinos and Asians, since a large share of them are either first or second generation. They came here because they liked America.

10. He is now, but wasn't always
He grew up with modest means and when he and Michelle started out money was pretty tight. They just paid off their student loans a few years ago. He didn't become so well-off until around 2004, when his book was republished and he was elected to the Senate.
