don't you see what is going on?
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 07:08 AM by Syrinx
I'm sitting here in increasing annoyance watching some show called "Morning Joe," where Scarborough and his guests are talking about how the Democratic Party is being torn apart, and this is going to only benefit McCain in November.

They are NOT reporting the situation. They are trying to shape the situation. And they are probably succeeding.

They are actually saying that the Obama campaign is to blame for this horrible development, because Geraldine Ferraro, an imagined "icon" of the feminist Left, is being unfairly attacked by Obama.

Excuse me.

Exactly when and where did that happen?

The most outraged that Obama could manage to become was to call Geraldine's ridiculous comments "ridiculous."

That makes Obama a fire-breathing race baiter? That is outlandish.

The Clinton campaign is taking a page from the Machiavelli playbook, via Karl Rove: "Attack your opponent on his home field."

Just like Rove attacked John Kerry on military issues, where Kerry outshone George Bush a thousand to one, Penn and Wolfson are attempting to outflank Obama on the issue of Race.

Obama is the first national black candidate that has run a largely race-neutral campaign. So the cynical Clinton camp turns around and attacks him full-frontally on the issue of race.

"Questions" about his "electablity," because women make up 51% of the country, as opposed to African-Americans who make up only 13%. As if women can't vote for blacks, and African-Americans can't vote for women.

And Ferraro said the exact same things about Jesse Jackson twenty years ago.

Pictures of Obama in native African/quasi-Arab garb. Supposed "doubts" about his religion.

They are playing the "jihad card." They are trying to link Obama to a terrorist organization, that Bush hasn't been able to defeat, and that probably doesn't exist anyway.

Give me a god-damned break.

Olbermann's reasoned, if histrionic, plea to the Clinton camp aside, this "imminent demise of the Democratic party, based on a racial divide" is being invented and promoted by the mainstream media, and it benefits the Clinton DLC and the McCain Bush GOP, two wings of the same party.

It is obvious, and it is dangerous.

7. She seems to be following the pattern of others in the Clinton campaign
who have made similar deplorable comments and then made a big show of leaving the campaign. Serial offenders. It's so ugly to watch this stuff.

10. This reminds me of that Rep Cleaver who said he had gotten threatening emails
He's a black supporter of Hillary and claimed that he was getting threatening emails from Obama people about switching support, when actually he didnt get it, it was somebody else, and he never actually had seen the emails himself.

18. What a strange tactic. I missed flap.
Why would you have to construct such a lie to "support" your candidate? People's mouths get ahead of them in the weirdest ways.

13. She said there were hundreds of emails the Obama campaign sent....
She is not talking about Mr Obama or any official campaign, she is talking about Mr Obamas supporters that emailed her and trying to say they are part of the campaign.

6. If Hillary had any class at all she would drop out because she is losing in all the metrics,
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 06:36 AM by Submariner
delegates, popular vote, # of states won, etc. She would have to win by a 64% margin in ALL the remaining states to catch up on delegates alone, never mind the popular vote. She lost already, but hasn't realized it yet.

8. I'm not just worried about this election anymore
but for the democratic party itself. Regardless of who started this, the question is who can stop it. Another question is are there people within our own party who do not want to stop it, and if they're willing to break apart the coalition, and threaten the implantation of their goals and beliefs, and perhaps the very lives of other people (i.e. iraq soldiers coming back home vs. staying in iraq) to promote it. Some may have that luxury, others weigh their very lives against this threat and will do anything to stop it. Who prevails will determine the fate of this party.

14. Why bother with that trash?
All it does is misinform and raise one's blood pressure. And help them assume that they have ratings or are relevant (which they're not).

15. It is a SAD bunch of lies....
We Dems have such a great chance to win back the WH, and I have a chance to vote for a ticket WITHOUT a Bush or a Clinton on it!

In my opinion, the Clinton camp first attacked Obama on his speaking ability, because it was a threat to them....

Now it is his race...

It's like they need to tear down or discount anything that is appealing to the voters. We voters need to wake up and seriously think about what we need to do to take back our government. It's within our grasp....

I'm for a third party, the Clinton/Bush party...they can all be in the same camp and everyone will be happy.

21. I've come to the conclusion that the Clintons are experts at playing the Victim
they are also expert at getting the media to spin things there way (see Super Tuesday for proof). Make no mistake, their friends are among the wealthy, the powerful, the media elite. My God the woman is pals with Rupert Murdoch for God's sake--what more proof do you need that they have excellent press connections and don't hesitate for one second to use them. I've heard many reporters say on air that they get a ton of emails from her campaign each and every day suggesting "talking points" for them.

And one more note, don't ever forget that Scarborough is a REPUBLICAN. There's a reason why they are whoring for Hillary--i.e., they want HER to be the nominee come November, not Obama. They can easily tear Hillary into a million little pieces and the same people whoring for her now will be the same people tearing her apart come November. End game? McCain as President.

Dont play their game.
Call. Write. Email. COMPLAIN.
