5. I wish Jeb were running only because he'd be easier to beat than McCain.

I wrote this in mid-2006:

McCain and Jeb are my dream (GOP) ticket. And best of all, we wouldn't have to do anything to McCain that Georgie didn't. What with the voting scandals, Terri Schiavo and the hurricane recovery, they can't deliver Florida without cheating this time, and if the Dems do well in 2006, something can actually be done about it. More important, with a Bush in his back pocket, McCain's "I'm a moderate independent" routine goes right down the drain.

All we'd have to do is present the threat of the country being run by ANOTHER unstable flip-flopper extraordinaire with Jeb filling Cheney's shoes in the role of "the REAL power behind the throne." Bring it on, guys, and make my day!

And this a year earlier:

The state police made me look bad by telling the local police that I was planning to violate the spirit of the court order by rescuing Terri! And big brother Georgie made me look bad by interrupting his vacation in Texas to sign Terri's Law, leaving behind a baby to die because he didn't have any money!
