Keith Olbermann: The Pied Piper of Identity Politics
Edited on Wed Mar-12-08 08:08 PM by Crooked Moon
the howard beale act is wearing thin, keith.

he's been an obama partisan from the jump, and he's using his quivering lip© and faux outrage to drive ms. clinton from a presidential race by playing the hyper-tolerant white progressive.

the people peddling the sum total of subjectively-interpreted ads, political criticisms and comments as genuine racism are planting the seeds of destruction for the democratic party.

13. you're entitled to your opinion.
but by the time the republicans start in on him, he will have played the entire deck of race cards, and he'll be perceived as the boy who cried wolf.

outrage will be muted and exhausted from overuse.

but, by all means. continue to pretend obama and his supporters are confident they have it in the bag by the votes and the delegates. the fact is, they're very worried about the process and have been reduced to simultaneously pointing in every directions and screaming "racism".

it's a recipe for disaster.

26. And that shouldn't be a surprise. They told us they (clinton) was going to throw the kitchen sink.
And there it is, shattered in the middle of the room. Like a 3yo throwing a tantrum, she broke it - and now she can't fix it.

as racist identity politics.

She is acting like the most reprehensible of Republicans.

I really wished I had saved all the posts weeks ago from Obama supporters claiming that Keith was clearly supporting Hillary when he was criticizing Obama and all the Hillary supporters who said he was just being honest.

Honestly, this place is pathetic.

14. Here come the Hill-Shills.
Again, after all Olbermann has done for progressive causes, he's now the Antichrist for calling Hillary and Geraldine on their bigotry.

He is right. After the photo of Obama in Somali garb, the equivocation in her "denial" that Obama's a Muslim, after the comments Bill Clinton made in S. Carolina, and after Ferraro's repeated and repeated comments, a pattern is indeed emerging.

A pattern of bigotry. A pattern of dog-whistling to all the closet racists in this country.

Despicable. Absolutely despicable.

16. I think you need to watch again with open ears
What I heard was him trying to tell Hillary something important: that she's upsetting a lot of folks including manyof her supporters, and causing harm to the Democratic Party, and to wisen-up and quit this sh*t.

That's not a slam or pro-Obama... it's PRO DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

18. You're not dealing with reality. Keith said the same thing about Rush.
When Rush made his idiotic statement about McNabb and lost his job on Monday Night Football, Keith was right there with the same commentary. What do you think has changed? Certainly it isn't Keith or the Obama supporters, they have remained consistent. What is it about this kind of talk that makes it unacceptable when Rush does it, but acceptable when the Clinton campaign does it?

Keith isn't the one who is lost, you may be.

have you studied its origins and historical applications?

or is your ignorance merely a convenient vehicle on which to deliver a juvenile ad hominem attack?

28. Yes, it is, and yes, I have. And your use of the phrase "ad hominem" in this context tells the
discerning reader that you are unaware of its actual meaning. Please try again.

29. you essentially called me a right-winger and further smeared ms. clinton
by implying that she is a right-winger.

so the use and context are absolutely correct.

31. Wrong. An "ad hominem" (Latin: "to the person") would be if I accused *you* directly of being a
right-winger. I stated that the talking point in your OP, i.e., "Identity Politics," was a right-wing meme, which it is. Further, since "ms. (Sic) clinton (Sic)" is not a part of this conversation, the relevance of any supposed "smear" I aimed her way is negligible.

Therefore, the use and the context are quite incorrect, period.
