The party has selected certain Congressional candidates who will receive a lot of money and others who will receive none. Some of the best candidates are getting no funding and some of the worst are getting a lot of funding.

Rather than contributing to the party, contribute to progressive candidates. If the underdogs can get enough for TV ads, we may wind up with a Congress that listens to us - instead of the Republicans.

Also, if people are sending money to Kerry, include a note of what your stance on the issues is. Maybe he won't be so eager to move to the right.

1. A lot of this is, unfortunately, necessary triage

The DCCC has only limited funds, so they ignore the "safe" seats (for either party), and they send $ to those with difficult races who they believe can win (or who can throw enough fear the powerful incumbent).

But I agree -- their support doesn't always go to the best candidates, and often goes to the worst. By choosing this method, they let the Republicans define their support.
