Rachel Maddow is right: Tonight John McCain Wins
I'm glad I wasn't the only one forcing myself to watch another boring ass, pointless debate that was almost a carbon copy of the one from a week ago. As a matter of fact, outside of the Louis Farrakhan question...I could have just popped in last weeks tape and got the same exact debate. Rachel Maddow is expressing how tiring these debates and this whole fight altogether has become. It needs to fucking end! 20 damn debates is BEYOND excessive...it's overkill. There won't be nearly as many debates in the General Election, and the GE is more important than the Primaries.

The longer the Dem race goes on, and tired our candidate (who I believe is Obama) gets...the more it helps John McCain. We need a refreshed and rejuvenated GE candidate. Not someone who just got out of a pissy match with someone who couldn't let go of her ego.

1. No she isn't
Tonight Obama wins, as he will win the nomination, and as he will win the presidency of the United States of America.

27. I didn't see her comments, but I know what she has said in the past
And that is that he benefits from this going on and on. I seriously doubt she meant this is going to make him the winner of the GE.

It helps though. The more dirt these two toss at each other, the less money he and the 527s and the RNC have to spend doing it.

8. Are any more planned?
Edited on Tue Feb-26-08 11:28 PM by samdogmom
These were planned ahead of time and hard to drop out of without looking like a jerk. Thank goodness Barack had the good sense to ignore Hillary's bogus plea for a debate in Wisconsin.

I agree--these things are getting tiresome.

Hillary likes these things because it's free air time--she's a little broke right now!

Barack should refuse to indulge her after this.

Tonight was a good night for democracy.

But this may have been helpful to some Ohio and Texas voters who are still undecided.

13. McCain is a lecherous old man and is a totally unattractive candidate.
"My friends" he sucks.

Lobbyists, the Keating 5, 100 more years. is all undesirable.

Time for a change IMHO.

Have a nice evening.

Do you see where that "affair" business went? Nobody is going to believe that McCain is a Lech, he's an old old man - better come up with something better than that!!

14. Reasonable point. I liked the 16 minutes of health care discussion at the outset,
though, an issue where I pay attention and there is some confusion about the two candidate's proposals - long yet to be presented to Congressional debate - yet much else was reiteration. I think we got a little clarity on the lack of difference between the two candidates on revisiting NAFTA, which was worth hearing. Maddow has a point, we could have heard more challenge to the (R) administration. There's time though. I, for one, think we'll come out of this primary really strong.

15. I disagree w/ Rachel. While I think we've had enough debates, I think it
it is good exposure for the party. It is getting both their names out there. I think Obama stands to gain more in the long run with the increasing name recognition and exposure. So, it is all good in my book.

16. it is what it is. Not everyone has voted yet. Some Democrats would still like to have a chance
Their say. I don't think the people of Ohio, Tx and Pa think it is over yet no matter what is being touted by the press and eager Obama supporters. Senator Clinton may well lose, but she has the right to fight for the presidency for as long as she has a chance. The fact that this contest has gone on so long without someone steamrolling through says a lot about both candidates.

20. This extended primary
has been a ratings device cleverly contrived by the media and sold to the political parties. I wouldn't be surprised if a hefty amount of campaign money has been showered on both parties by the big media corporations to finance this shallow endeavor. It has made things so much easier on the MSM this past year, having a good 65 percent of the broadcast self perpetuating. They haven't had to subject themselves to the discomfort of covering truly important politics like FISA and the Siegleman travesty and that long forgotten Plame outing. And a thousand other things.

22. 20 Debates are enough...It's time for Hillary to consider
bowing out for the good of the party. I am sorry, if 20 debates are not enough to understand the differences between the two candidates, 20 more will not help. It's time...it's time for this party to unite and concentrate on beating the GOP in November.

31. That's bunk.
Americans who tuned into the debate got to see two reasonable candidates for president in Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

The negative ads by supporters of John McCain will portray the Democratic nominee as the worst person there is.

These debates help the Democrats.

but 100% disagree. For it to be a win for John McCain his campaign would have to be not stuck in the mud like it is, with charges of him breaking finance laws, lying about lobbyist influence, etc.. etc..
