Hillary doesn't realize that SNL isn't NEARLY as popular as it used to be...
Had this been 1976, Jimmy Carter pointing out something Chevy Chase had said about Gerald Ford would have gotten a huge response from the audience.

But in 2008, the reference just plain went over most people's heads, and hearing it out of context, most audience members probably thought it sounded fairly petty.

Unfortunately Hillary proved ONCE AGAIN that she simply isn't a natural in the humor department. Not a requisite skill for a presidential candidate, I know, but she should probably try to lay off the one-liners in future debates.

5. Maybe she is wooing SNL writers to join her staff
as she will likely fire the rest of her media staff.

I can just see it now. New banners with "Bitch is the New Black. Vote Hillary."

3. I'm curious to see how SNL reacts to Clinton's love of that skit.
It could be very amusing.

4. Watch SNL for the TRUTH! Write before that skit about erectile dysfunction and farting
what a lame plug. I felt embarrassed for her. The whole "got a pillow" zing was another Xerox moment. Only a graceful and skilled person could have said something that dumb and outrageous but have it come across as funny and appropriate.

10. Honestly, the debate sketch got TONS of posts here as it was airing
this past Saturday night - I realize DU isn't exactly the perfect microcosm of American society in general, but it surely struck a chord here.

12. Well, DUH--we're all political junkies and we knew there'd be something on about them.
Most people I know haven't watched for years--and these are people MY OWN AGE. (Isn't that SNL's key demographic?)

13. um.....
actually,

the audience was asked not to respond/applaud.

And they didn't until the end....

so of course, the audience didn't respond, they were asked not to.

20. Wow, I just watched the Hillary SNL reference... and it was pitiful.
She wants to be President, yet she's whining about being the first to be asked questions. (I look forward to someone from CNN or MSNBC doing a fact check on that statement.)

Pity the poor candidate.

23. Making a comment is "whining."
If we can't get away with comparing her to an animal, let's compare her to a small child.

Gosh, we're all thrilled you didn't say "shrill."
