think about if Jimmy Carter's middle name were not Earl, but Trotsky. It seems to many almost like that, but with Islamofascism, not communism. Personally I don't see it as anything, but its not unreasonable to see why some think such tihngs.

10. Worse it has been a girl's name more than a boy's name at least since the 1980s
I had thought maybe that was just in NJ - but google is my friend, so here's what I found:

In 2000 - 2005, Sidney - as spelled was given to 5,814 girls (the 316th most popular girl name) and to 5,814 boys (the 676th most popular boy's name). To make matters worse, the more common spelling for girl's is Sydney. This was the 24th most popular girl's name given to 53,414 girls.

I don't I have ever heard the name being used in the feminine form.
