How will our new Dem "First Ladies" handle the Christmas Tree Thingy?
Edited on Wed Dec-31-03 08:45 PM by KoKo01
This very mundane thought popped into my head today as I was looking at my Christmas tree and the ornaments on it. How will our new Dem First Ladies do a tour of the White House and and deal with "Christian Symbols?"

It might be hard, and we need to talk about it now, rather than later?

1. Actually
according to the bible, God orders people NOT to put up Christmas trees.

Jeremiah 10, very interesting passage.

2. The same way all the previous first ladies have
They will all decorate for Christmas and choose a theme. I know Dean's wife is Jewish but I suspect she will have a Christmas tree along with Hanukah decorations.

4. White House Christmas Tour
The Fist Lady will handle the situation with restraint and class.
By gosh! She will know exactly what to do. Now all we have to do is get her there.

6. Events like these will be much more pleasant with a decent president...
Every time I see Bush it's just hard not to think about everything he's done, even at the Christmas tree lighting.

7. I think...
She should set it on fire and have a wild pagan-like dance ceremony and orgy right on the White House lawn!

Yeah, Democrats rock!

But, that's just me. ;)

Not a concern for me after watching that robot this year on Larry King talking about Christmas.

10. Gert is pure class, like her husband.
She will decorate a beautiful tree, have a lovely Menorah, a lovely Kwanzaa Kinara and all the other religions will be represented in the WH. I know the Clark's celebrate Christmas, I wonder if Wes lights a Menorah too? Anyway, Gert will do what's right. I'm sure ANY Democrat's first lady would do what's right. Now, republicans I would worry about.

11. So,our "First Lady" should be all things to "All People?" Well, I could
go with that.....but will the rest of Americans? I would hope so...and hope we are ready for this. But ARE WE?

12. Why not?
Why would people care if there was a Menorah, Kinara and a Christmas tree? Don't we already display a huge Menorah right near the Washington monument? I think I saw that display? Our first lady will do whatever she feels is right and is comfortable with. Her husband IS paid by Jews, Christians, Baptists, Buddhists, etc....Christians do not have a monopoly on religion in this country. I know the RW religious ideologues would like to think they do, but they don't. What are they going to say? We don't want a Menorah or Kinara in OUR WH? They would look mightily foolish if they did.
