My Reasons for Supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton
I've spent the better part of this past week defending Hillary in most of the negative posts about her. I've been a member here for over 4 years and I've posted more this past week than in any time in my history, I very rarely post here or respond but I get alot of my news from this site and enjoy alot of the humor and opinions I read.

I realized that I should share the reasons I support her and I hope that after reading this, you too will have a little bigger heart and some respect as I do for Hillary and maybe even vote for her, in the end.

I know that there are "zillion" of you out there that can't stand her for whatever reason(s), most of what I've read here is just knee-jerk reactions, some other criticisms are justified and understandable, but the pure hatred of her shocks and disheartens me to my very core, what a sad sight for the Democratic party and our Country as a whole. Aren't we all Americans and isn't it time that we stopped hating so much, even for just one moment, to read this post without preconceived notions or opinions? Have we become a country of hate and hatred? Is this all we are now?

As a constituent of Hillary Clinton's here in Buffalo New York, her offices helped me with a problem I had with the post office in Tonawanda, NY. You see, my father passed away almost 5 years ago and I got his pure-bread rotty, "Donner". He was 11 years old, and if anyone knows dogs, that's old, especially for a rotty, which their average lifespan is 11 years.

Well, I got a dog chain and attached it to my porch out front for Donner at night and I took him to work with me every day, I was afraid he might either eat one of my 3 cats or "go to the bathroom" in the house if left alone. After about a month or so, I got a nasty note in my mail box from my neighbors saying that they were not getting their mail because of the dog.

Confused about this, I called the post office and was informed that the mail carrier does not have to deliver the mail to a home if they feel threatened for whatever reasons, as per their Union Contract. I was further informed that because of the dog's chain outside that there was a "Do Not Deliver Notice" attached to my house. How could this be I thought and I became angry, no one informed me...I even have a post office box at the Tonawanda Branch and had it for over 15 years; they could have at least put a note in my box.

Despite federal laws that prohibit the interference of the mails by anyone, including a mail carrier. The post office officials would not even listen to my issue. How could the mail carrier be afraid of a dog that wasn't even there when the mail would be delivered?

I called everyone I could, Senator Schummer's offices, Rep. Louise Slaughter's office, I even contacted the Post Master General in Washington...I got no response from any of them.

I finally contacted Hillary Clinton's offices and you know what...within 3 days I got a written apology and the "Do Not Deliver Notice" from the post office. They apologized and said that the mail carrier was new to the route and the mail deliver was resumed.

The Second reason I support Hillary and this is the most important reason.

My oldest sister is dying of a very rare disease that has attacked her kidneys and 2 years ago, my bother-in-law, my sister and their son, moved back to Binghamton, NY from Louisiana to be closer to family. My mother was/is distraught over the situation and I feared it would kill her.

My mother took my sister to our family doctor and they did test after test after test for almost a year and they finally concluded that my sister had no hope of survival and that was it. My mother's doctor said that she might be able to get a kidney transplant at Syracuse University Hospital, so my family called them and they wouldn't even see my sister.

My mother, my brother-in-law and my nephew wouldn't give up...there had to be something someone somewhere that could help my sister. We all believed that if she went to Syracuse University they could help...we needed to believe in something, this couldn't be the end. My sister even went to specialists in Pennsylvania...to no avail...

By this time my sister and my family had lost all hope, the disease began to attack her pancreas and gallbladder and the pain was constant.

Finally, my brother-in-law contacted Hillary Clinton's Offices in Binghamton and guess what...within 4 weeks my sister had an appointment with a team of doctors at Syracuse University.

More and more tests were ordered. This took about 2 more months to complete and we finally had a light of hope...something might be done! That they would find out something or have a treatment plan or even give my sister new kidneys.

Despite all the efforts, the results came back the same, the disease would attack her organs, one at a time until it kills her...even if they were to give my sister new kidneys they too would be attacked. My sister has been on dialysis now for 3 months and her condition has not gotten any better, unfortunately.

My point in sharing this story is not for pity (we've had enough of that) BUT to share with you what my Senator, Hillary Clinton, gave to my family....TRUE HOPE...just for a moment...BUT HOPE NONE THE LESS!

That hope gave our family the time we needed to come to terms with the reality of death.

You see, I really believe that Senator Clinton understands one thing...that SHE IS MY PUBLIC SERVANT and her 1st and foremost duty is to her constituents...ME...that we are the reasons she has a job.

Senator Clinton most likely doesn't even know my name or my sisters name, but her offices helped me in Buffalo and my sister in Binghamton...we have different names and she could not know that we were even related.

My faith in her goes to this point, ...We aren't one of her money donors...We aren't part any powerful Washington Lobby, We don't have money like that! As an anonymous constituent, SHE HELPED ME AND MY FAMILY!

She must have given orders to her staff to help all of us, not like Senator Schummer or Rep Louise Slaughter...they didn't help...when they should have...Isn't this the duty of our elected officials? Aren't they answerable to us?

I don't doubt for one moment, that if she becomes MY PRESIDENT, she will understand that she is there because of and for me!

I'm sure she will make decisions that I won't agree with but I will have the faith that she made those decisions for the best of all of us, NOT FOR JUST A SELECT FEW.

I know this in the bottom of my heart and I pray that whomever reads this will, just for a moment, drop your hatred and listen. Not to the MSM and the game that is currently underway, but listen to people who have real experiences, like me...please stop listening to the trash talk...

There is so much at stake this time around!

God Bless,

:loveya:

2. Thank You for Sharing Your Story With Me And May God Bless You
I do not buy the media caricature of her and Bill... I don't think they are cardboard saints but basically decent and empathetic human beings...

6. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I truly enjoyed reading your post. I took away things away from
it: 1) that Sen. Clinton is a compassionate person and 2) that she is a true workhorse that knows how to get the job done for her constituents.

It's just amazing.

So again, thank you for sharing your story, and letting us know about the wonderful, compassionate workhorse that Sen. Clinton is.

for those who haven't been... there's lots more stories like yours there: http://www.thehillaryiknow.com/

Thank you so much for putting yourself out there like that, especially in this environment. That took a lot of courage.

11. Thank you for posting....Hillary is a warm, caring and real individual.
I cannot fathom the posts against her.
I will NOT be voting for someone I never even heard of 10 months ago.
That happened in the 2000 election and look at the chaos/mess we have today.
Obama's a media-made myth....surrounded by near hysterical people...which is so sad in itself.

Hillary deserves to be President.

If you had been following politics, you would have heard of him when he gave an incredible speech at the Dem convention in 2004.

18. Great post...thank you.
Your words on hope are why I can't get upset at many Obama fans, even though I don't feel it myself. I can't bring myself to harp on hope even though I don't ever feel it myself.

Thanks for a thoughtful post.
