5. May I suggest

listening to the Bush speech today (and similar all week) and responding in the D-bunker to each claim -- no matter how absurd or trivial.

For example, "I voted for the $87 billion before I voted against it." Being "for" NAFTA, Patriot Act, "liberation of Iraq," NCLB and then against them. I know it's gotta be a fulltime job keeping up with each of the Bush lies.

I suggested a week or 2 ago in the AtA formum that we start a new forum here to research and debunk the spin and lies. No doubt the repugs have hundreds of workers digging up dirt, we here at DU research this stuff all day every day anyways, why not organize it and use our free man/woman power and enthusiasm.

Another thought Pete (and btw: you are doing a GREAT job!) Can the Kerry camp call a daily press conference and just read off the dbunker? shrubbie certainly has his minions out on a daily basis spewing this crap. Just call it the daily truth session or something, hold a press conference and issue a press release.

Anti-Kerry ad deceitful

I saw an anti-John Kerry, pro-President Bush ad that was outright deceitful. To attack with truths is one thing. To throw up blatant lies against your opponent is another.

One lie in the ad claimed that Kerry would raise taxes by $900 billion. This was, according to Kerry's staff, merely a made-up number. The truth is that Kerry plans to undo the tax cuts for the wealthy -- for families earning $200,000 or more -- which would simply reinstate them at their pre-Bush rates. And Kerry would lower taxes on working families.

Kerry also would provide additional tax cuts to help working families afford health care costs that have increased tremendously under the Bush administration.

When politicians pitch gross lies, the press has a responsibility to hold them accountable.

16. I'm going to use it for making quarter-sheet handouts for grassrooting

I presently have a site where I made brochures and handouts of Kerry issues to hand out to people at different visibility events since last June and will definitely arm myself with lit that debunks the Chimpy Machine.

A lot of grassroots stuff will be coming up this spring and I'm certain the info will come in handy.
