Let's talk about haircuts
We all know that the Repubs keep bringing up the $75 Kerry haircut. Somehow, they seem to think it shows Kerry as an out of touch wealthy man. Is anyone here offended that Kerry spends this much? I would be offended if he didn't. He has difficult hair and is running for President where appearance does matter. Great haircuts are expensive and I would guess that most newscasters pay at least this much and probably more. Comments?

1. It doesn't offend ME.
But he could get a decent haircut for less than $75, too...

3. Well, how much do *'s haircuts cost?
Unless they can tell you, there's not much point to slamming Kerry now is there?

4. Until they wanna talk about how much w* spends on his 'do.....
they should shut the f**k-up.

I'm a normal middle-class. I spent $60 on my last haircut. $75 doesn't seem like a lot to spend.

13. $60? And you're male?
Edited on Mon Mar-08-04 01:59 PM by mobuto
Wow. I think my record is $15 + tip, although I usually get it done for $11. What does a $60 cut do for you that a cheaper cut doesn't?

16. Depends alot
on where you live. When we lived in Chicago it cost alot more for haircuts than it does where we live now. I bet it costs alot more in DC, NY, LA than it does in other cities.

19. I live in DC.

right smack in the middle of the city.

I commute to a barbershop in Bethesda, MD, one of the wealthiest suburbs in the nation, because I like the barber. They charge $11.

If I were a politician running for President of the United States, I'd probably pay what Kerry's paying - I don't have any problem with it. But if you're not doing that, I don't understand what you'd be getting that's so different or special. I'm not criticizing, I just don't understand.

5. That was a completely stupid ad
First of all, they ripped it off of Nader; he used the same ad during the 2000 campaign and it was considered really "cutting edge." Of course repukes, not having a creative bone in their body, cannot come up with anything original themselves, so they have to redo something that was already done (Mars, anyone?)

Secondly, this asinine attempt to paint Kerry as some rich guy that's out-of-touch when there truly cannot be a more out-of-touch "president" than *. I bet * doesn't even know how much he pays for haircuts since daddy has probably picked up the tab his whole life. Loser.

to keep us from noticing that awful stuff that grows out of Duhbya's head and also I think they are trying to fluff Duhb's out more than before--I think they are suffering from "hair envy"!

I see this issue really energizing the "Super Cuts customer" block of the electorate.

Forget NASCAR Dads, Security or Soccer Moms.

15. I don't care.
If you have a lot of money to spend on a haircut, great. If not, too bad, but I'll bet you still get a good cut. Bush probably has a stylist on staff, making a hefty salary that would make his haircuts more than or of equal value to Kerry's trims.

This "rich" Kerry thing is absurd. Bush and all of his criminal friends are rich.

My stomach is already rumbling and we've only just begun.

:puke:

18. Reporters can research the amount paid for a haircut
But they can't put their investigative skills to work to find out what *really* happened on 911?

They can't *really* get to the bottom of some of the nefarious business of the current cabal?

What a waste of investigative reporting.

Pah.

20. You're missing the point.
My mother and I have concluded that it was when Kerry finally got a decent haircut that he started rising in the poll. There was a lot more hair on that head back in December.
