6. I agree
I think it would be great to have either an African American or a Woman (or both) as president.

But I don't that should override the most important criterias for the job.

7. That's exactly what I have been saying
We eat up our time discussing gender and race and fail to discuss the true issues. We are being played for the idiots they think we are.

11. When did he ask people to vote for him because he was black?
Hillary reminds us at least once a day to vote for her because she's a woman.

15. I don't think that should be the only reason to support a candidate either
I'm more concerned with what a candidate will actually do, and their overall platform and goals.

16. Used to be
But there's more than one way to break a glass ceiling.

I have no problem with those who vote for Hillary because they believe she's the best person for the job.

But her gender shouldn't be the primary reason to elect her. Personally, I believe John Edwards would have done a lot more than either of them to actually address the economic issues that affect women as well as men.

14. Let the next 3 presidents be women (much less 43)- I'll bet men will be screaming from the rooftops
DEMANDING that a male president be elected because they're being treated so unfairly and WOMEN ARE TAKING OVER!

Jeez.

18. I doubt that would happen if they were three good presidents
I'd be more than happy to see Barbara Boxer succeeded by Jan Schiakovsky succeeded by Barbara Lee.

21. Sure some men will -- A thumb in their eyes too
Gender should not be the basis of choosing a candidate.

If a great candidate is also a woman, so much the better. But the contants are more important than the package.
