Hello all new posters! What do you think of this place?

This is a time when democrats & independents, who have been discouraged & angry for the past eight years, are getting fired up and ready to win this thing. And they will be looking for places to go for information and to join forces with like-minded people. And they might end up here.

For those posters that are engaging in ugly and inflammatory tactics to supposedly support "their" candidate: What kind of impression do you think you are making on these new people?

For those of you new to the site: What do you see?

But, in a nutshell, here's my observation:

3. A Strange Feeling....

I remember this board and was a member WAY before GD split into two categories. I used a different user-name. (Some folks will now peek at my profile and castigate me as a N00b....yadda, look at my post count and declare my opinion isn't worth the bandwidth I'm apparently wasting...more hate to promote, dig?)

I can say this: I have NEVER seen such vitriol, such flat-footed hatred, such racism, black-hating, woman-hating, southern-strategy experts, vile accusations, off-message-off-point-misconstrued-disinfo, name calling, pouting, self-importance, downright uncouth behavior -- on a democratic-cum-progressive message board...in my internet life or, down here, at street level politics.

It's disheartening....troubling, counter-productive, counter-intuitive, and to my mind (MY OPINION)...ah, forget it.

Your invitation to post my thoughts brought me out of lurking mode.

P.S. There are many posters here whom I admire and look forward to reading their thoughtful analysis. Please continue posting; I'll continue reading and thinking.

4. Any ideas on how to stop it?

I think it is harming this particular organization in many ways. I am also stunned by what I am seeing. I have been a subscriber for many years and only recently started posting.
But it must have been interesting to come in as a newbie and experience what I and others have been experiencing here.
