Just got back from my caucus in Colorado.

I'm in Boulder County, and there was a massive, massive turnout in my area this year. There were over 60 people in my precinct group (when I caucused in '04, there were only 5 people in my precinct). Our group ended up at about 2/3 Obama and 1/3 Clinton. If this is replicated in the rest of the state, it should be pretty good for Obama.

One interesting thing, I talked to the woman next to me who was there for Obama, and had never been to a caucus before. She said that although she is a registered Dem, she votes more like an independent, and had actually voted Repub last time since she didn't like Kerry. She said that she doesn't like Hillary, and will definitely vote Repub if she is the nominee, but will vote Dem if Obama is the nominee.

After I had this talk with her, the people who wanted to speak for candidates got up, and the woman speaking for Obama reported that when she had been calling registered Dems in her precinct, many of the were telling her the same thing, that they would vote Obama, but would vote Repub if it was Hillary. I wouldn't have believed her story if I hadn't just spoken with this other woman.

Anyway, that was my experience, FWIW. I get to be an alternate at the County Convention. (When I went last time, anyone who wanted could be a delegate, since there were more slots than there were people.)

even though she's registered as a Dem. I just found it interesting and worth noting.

2. That is so true my older daughter same way

she is independent and tends to vote more republican. even voted for bush..ugh...but said if obama is in it she will vote for him. she does not like hillary at all and will vote repub then.

my younger daughter and husband are military and the ones who got me to vote for obama...

does that say alot?? daughter who tends to vote repub likes him and military kids like him!!!!!!!!!!

12. I voted yesterday online through Dems Abroad

The voting goes through 2/12, so there is no result yet. It's the first time we can do it this way, but since I now live 500 miles from anyplace with a consulate or a Democrat, it was a tremendous convenience, and given Mexican mail as it is, maybe the only way I could have voted. :)

I don't think Obama could possibly win Mexico in any case, FYI. It's Hillary's demographic here, older, female, white.

4. IF Hillary wins the nomination, I think there will be huge

pressure on her to choose Obama for her VP. And I think there will be lots of pressure for Obama to accept.

If Obama wins, he will be better off not to have Hillary on the ticket. IMO.

if he wins, he doesn't need her. i don't think her ego would allow her to accept a VP spot.

because she wouldn't help him by being on the ticket. She would help him much more by campaigning for him. And I think she would do that. I don't think her ego is any bigger than Obama's. You have to have a big ego to run for President.

7. You're Lucky---I Couldn't Get Into My Douglas Co. Caucus

It was at an elementary school, and I got there early, but there was a huge turnout and absolutely no parking left. None. Parking on a distant side street would have involved stomping through a half mile of 2-foot-high snow slush. I am really pissed by this lack of planning---if they couldn't find a venue with more parking, why the hell didn't they set up a shuttle system from the parking lot of a neighborhood supermarket? I would have been happy to take part in such a program. I fired off an email tonight to some of the county officers to express my disappointment about all this.

I would have voted for Obama, by the way.....

I don't think anyone was counting on this kind of turnout, though I guess they probably should have, since it's been the same in other states this year.

That really sucks that you weren't about to vote. :(
