Experience is overrated?
Let me ask you this.........if you had a brain aneurysm......and it had to be operated on......and you have to pick the surgeon..........would you pick the one two years out of medical school or would you go for the neurosurgeon that has 16 years of experience?

I'm just asking.

1. You know who has lots of experience? Dick Cheney. Donald Rumsfeld.
Many decades of experience in government for those two.

I'm just asking.

4. Well, I sure as hell wouldn't want either of them to operate
on my brain. But, that's up to you,I guess. :eyes:

2. Well I wouldn't pick their spouse, that's for sure.
Anyway, if experience is so important, why aren't Biden, Dodd, or Richardson still in the race?

10. In 1992 Bill Clinton thought experience was overrated. But that's when he was the "inexperienced"
candidate.

One of the raps against Bill in 1992 was that he lacked experience. He never served a day in Congress. And being Gov of Arkansas wasn't exactly seen as a power position in terms of preparation for the national and international arena.

Bill's comments and responses then to the experience issue may be seen in this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FUm7tkgFGYs

11. Yes Experience is overrated. There are many people who have
way more experience than Hillary but you aren't supporting them. Experience is great. It brings a new dimension, it brings something to the table. But it doesn't make you the best or most qualified leader.

So yes I would take that 1 or 2 years out of med school surgeon. Think about it how the hell will that person get any experience if you prevent that person from undertaking the surgery? Inexperience can bring new dimension. Things that the older/experienced surgeon learned in school might be highly outdated now with the new surgeon knowing many more techniques to rectify the situation in a better/effective way.

I don't think anyone is down playing experience. But when I hear that experience is everything I want to gag because its not true.

13. I'd pick a young skilled doctor over an older one with
a record of mistakes.

14. Obama has experience working for solutions
Hillary has experience fighting attacks against her and her husbands scandals

So to answer your question, I would pick the surgeon that had the most experience treating aneurysms, not the surgeon most experienced at fighting with other surgeons

16. Yes, but no one after Richardson had deep experience
So I was left to pick from amongst the "youngsters."

17.  Let me get this straight...
Clinton should be president because when it comes to picking a neurosurgeon, one with more years in the field will be less likely to screw up your wiring while he's digging around in your skull.
