Sorry, I Feel Like Gloating
YAY KERRY!!!

:bounce:

GO KERRY!!!

:bounce:

WOOOOAAAAAHHHHH KERRY!!!

:bounce:

Kerry won. Kerry won. Kerry won.

All is right with the world. Sanity still exists!

The air smells cleaner. The water tastes better.

My god, even my acne is clearing up!

:)

1. Pride and happiness are verboten!
The only emotions and attitudes esteemed here are pessimism, misery, depression, and weakness. Get with the program -- be a jellyfish!

2. Kerry hasn't won yet. That will come in November.
That's when the time to celebrate is.

6. Gloating vs 'feeling happy'
With all due respect, gloating and celebrating when, as a party, we have not achieved our goal yet, does not sound like 'feeling happy' to me.

For the record, I am quite happy with Kerry as the nominee and look forward to his inauguration next January.

15. agree
i'm happy kerry is going to win the primary. but i don't gloat when it comes to winning against other democratic candidates. gloating is for when we beat the right wingers.

20. Wrong.
Now, at the very least, it won't be a landslide loss of epic proportions.

Kerry is the nominee, not the favorite Govenor of DU.

It is MOST CERTAINLY time to celebrate.

4. Sorry, sounds like a Lounge post to me, Magic. November is when
you can jump up and down. Many days of hard work ahead. And, remember he isn't safe as the frontrunner if you believe in Democratic Process until the Dem Convention.

9. I already think Kerry is a lock for the presidency
So to me, this is just as good. I'll be jumping up and down from now until November.

I think I'm optimistic enough to sustain repeated jumps for 8 months.

:)

5. YES!
even thought we shouldn't be Gloating, I have been on this campaign since Oct. when we didn't have a snowballs chance. Good work Kerry people. It's our great candidate and your hard work that made this happen

10. Thanks! Congrats to you, too!
People were laughing in my face in August when I told them I supported Kerry.

11. yes
Quit being a worry wart. Lets have some fun. We're 8 months until the election - do we have to wring our hands for that long?

We all know the election will come down to the last 72 hours anyway.

14. Hey I've been a Kerry supporter from day one
and I'm ecstatic, but we don't need posts like these. People are already accusing of us of dividing the party (although that isn't true). We don't need to give the Kerry haters any fodder.

16. Kerry haters will hate him no matter what
I don't care about them. If they don't want to hop on the bandwagon, it'll leave without them.

But right now, it's a party back here and I'm doing the electric slide.

:)

18. it's not about Kerry haters
of course they will hate him no matter what. but there are many people who are going to support kerry but are still upset about their candidate losing. show respect to them. be happy about kerry but no need to gloat.

19. but I didn't say a negative word about any other candidate
You see, that's the difference. I am gloating my candidate won - not that anyone else lost.

I wasn't rooting for Dean to lose. Or for Edwards or Clark to lose.

Unlike some other supporters around here who shall remain nameless.

I'm just making a lighthearted point that it's okay to be happy that Kerry won and that by expressing that emotion, you're not 'dissing' someone else's candidate or their supporters.

Someone had to win this contest. They all had an equal and fair shot at it. Kerry got the job done.

I'd summize that if Kerry had lost and someone else had won we'd be hearing an endless stream of "Thank God Kerry lost" threads.

So by comparison, this thread is very mild.

22. i know, i saw it for months
the gloating of other supporters of other candidates on how kerry was doing bad in the polls, fundraising etc. but that doesn't mean it's ok to do it. this post is mild compared to that. i guess i just don't like the word "gloat". it's something i would use when we beat right wingers. for now, i'm happy and excited about kerry being the nominee.

17. No
The election will only come down to the last 72 hours if it is close.

In an analogy I know you will appreciate, basketball games often are decided in the last few minutes, but if one team decides not to worry about the first 3.5 quarters, they are going to get slaughtered and those last few minutes will simply be garbage time.

Keep that in mind please. :-)
