How long do you think it will be before the two prominent political parties fracture?
The neocon base of the republican party does not like McCain and the left wing of the Democratic Party isn't too crazy about our selections.
Personally I would love it if our party eschewed more of the Populist message and had more Populist candidates...however, I don't see that happening in the near future, if ever.
After this election, our party will become more centrist and more moderate...and turning back to the left and actual values of the party will be nothing but a memory.
There is a real possibility that folks out there will stay at home because they feel their party doesn't represent them anymore. And they are absolutely right.
Perhaps the key to getting people to vote is giving everyone a selection that they feel good about.

3. Wall Street is way to entrenched in our politics
I don't think folks ever realized how bad it really is.

Not to mention that the average American voter is really stupid. Ever watch Bill Maher's "caucaus me" segment that he does?

It's fucking scary!!!!

4. The Republican coalition is crumbling.
For all their belated criticism of Bush, he is the embodiment of Republican philosophy and policy. And it has been a catastrophe.

They are going to have to reinvent themselves, and it will not be pretty.

We have our own split to deal with too, but it hasn't reached the same point yet.
