Senator Hillary Clinton did not rule out Vice President if she was asked
http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0403/03/ldt.00.html

<snip>DOBBS: Senator, one last question. Do you want to be vice president?

(LAUGHTER)

CLINTON: No. I'm having a great time being senator, and talking to you about an issue that I care deeply about.

DOBBS: Let me put it another way, are you open to the idea?

(LAUGHTER)

CLINTON: You know, that is totally up to the nominee. And I don't think I would ever be offered. I don't think I would accept. Obviously, I want to do everything I can to see John Kerry elected president.

DOBBS: Do you think you would be helpful in that role as vice presidential candidate?

CLINTON: I think I could be helpful in my role as senator. I think I can do a lot to help people focus on the strengths of our candidate and the weaknesses, frankly, of the opposition. You know, we now have evidence, it's no longer speculative, about what this administration means for our country at home and abroad. And I think we're going to be able to make a very convincing case.

1. *shudder*
The Democratic Party, IMHO, needs to stop being the Clinton Party.

Plus, this would make us lose two Senate seats if Kerry was elected - IMHO any Senator with a Republican Governor shouldn't be a VP pick.

5. They do this to keep the Ditto-Monkeys frothing.
And perhaps Hill is throwing them some red meat to keep them twisting. She's no dummy, if she has forgotten that the mere mention of her name brings a lot of Murkans to a red-mist, blue-dress rage, then perhaps somebody needs to have a talk with her.

6. She will not be the VP, but never underestimate the power of any woman
Man BiggJawn. I thought you would know that? I know she drives the ditto heads into seizures. But this womans appeal to a great portion of the electorate might surprise you? Remember back when she was beating all the Dem candidates by 20 or so points when they were still doing the polls that included her? And that was for president. I really suspect that if she were to run for president she would win. Just my opinion.

8. Don't misunderstand, Don...
I think Hill would be great. I would vote for her in a heartbeat.
BUT.....this is not the time yet. All I was trying to point out is that the name "Clinton" is still a hot topic. You think Rove, Inc. is gonna pull out the stops on their smear machine now, imagine what it'd be like with Hillary.

Frankly, I hope she "goes for it" in '08, or '12. She's still young. I'd love to vote for her, I'd love to see her in the Oval office.

9. Won't happen, Dems need to save Hillary in case the worst happens
If Bush wins by hook or by crook, then Hillary can run and win in 2008. And be the first woman president ever.

10. There's only one possible worse pick
And that would be Howard Stern. Don't people think that those polls about the popularity of Hilary might have been Freeped a bit? Maybe not, but I just can't see it. There is not a single woman on this planet with more people who absolutely froth with rage at the mention of her name. I don't dislike her, but I do think that she is absolute political poison.

12. And you think the people who hate hillary
would ever vote for a democrat in their life?

Who cares if they don't like Hillary. Hell, I would consider that a plus.

13. Actually, most are Dems
I think that the Democratic party damn well better care what these people think, because they are very faithful voters. I know a lot of liberal people who believe that we just need to start fresh in order to shake off the ghost of Clintons past. The memory of everything that happened while they were in the White House, love them or not, is still very fresh. We just don't need the kind of baggage that she brings with her. Why give the wingers a whole armory of ammo from which to attack? It really makes no sense.

11. I cannot understand
I cannot understand some otherwise rational peoples' fascination with Hillary Clinton. I think she is Joe Lieberman with a Y chromosone.

I wouldn't be so dismissive of her as some are willing to be.
