I'm now officially undecided (with JE out), heres how I will determine who to pull for:
Priority numero uno is to beat the Republicans (looking like about 95% chance its gonna be McCain).

Our two candidates are reasonably close on the issues, and in general to my liking (not totally, but good enough that I won't hold my nose voting for either one in November). For me that leads only one issue left, electability.

Each candidate has one major strength/flaw in the electable category:

Hillary is VERY divisive it seems, whether she deserves this or not, who knows, but she is more likely to get a fractured Repo part up off the couch just to make sure she doesn't win. On the other hand, she knows how to FIGHT, and fight DIRTY, fight to win. Shes made that clear, and the best political genious our party has is her husband. I really don't care if Obama people scream foul, this is politics, there is no prize for "also ran" nor is there a "Ms. Manners" prize. You want to beat Republicans by playing nice?, 2004 is calling and wants it's losing strategy back!

Obama, on the other hand, clearly appears to a much broader bunch of people and is bringing people otherwise disillusioned to politics back into the game. This could certainly help on election night. But then again, he plays too fair. If he doesn't learn how to get in the mud then he is going to be steamrolled in 08.

So, its like this: Whichever candidate fixes their flaw first gets my support. I'm sure I will get flamed by both sides, go ahead, I only hope your candidate knows how to wield the torch as well as you!

3. McCain plays "too fair" as well, so it's a good match-up for Obama
and for the country, for that matter.

Civility and substance will be breaking out all over.

At least, we can always dream.

4. haha, I wish, but that simply isn't the way it is...
you don't think McCain hasn't learned from being black-babied back in 2000?

5. He still plays it pretty straight
he throws jabs at his opponents, but he'll never be the non-stop Rovenator that the Pubs would like him to be.

6. You are pragmatic
Personally, I've decided not to vote in the primary, since my candidates have dropped out, and I really don't like the positions of either Clinton or Obama. I am now listening to people on non-political boards, and I've been VERY concerned about what they are saying about both Obama and Clinton.

8. Me too
and back in '04, I told folks it wouldn't be easy for Kerry, and folks kept telling me I was just bringing them down. Then the swiftboating started and they weren't prepared.
