Nader question again - Here is why he is insignificant
This year, Nader will be lucky to get 1%. But I'll start with Election 2000 numbers.

Do the math.

2.7% Greens Election 2000
minus Greens who never have nor never will vote anything but Green.
minus Greens who live in states we will already win by a significant margin
minus Greens who live in states we will already lose by a significant margin
minus the majority of Greens from Election 2000 who have already vowed to vote Democratic this time

What’s left are a miniscule number of Greens for which we’d lose far greater numbers of moderates (10X) if Greens were allowed to dictate major parts of the Democratic Party platform.

1. and a bunch of Diebold Voting Machinez Giving some Dem Votes to Nader
The Republicans are funding Nader's run because they need him.
They are going to be too far behind to steal the election if
it's just shrub vs JFKerry.

It isn't about how many votes Nader really gets,
he makes it easier for the Rethuglicans to steal the election.
Just like in 2000.

13. Why do you think so many on DU are promoting this nonsense?
It's as if they are working overtime to defeat the Democratic candidate.

6. That's BS. I don't believe that for a minute. That's why I kicked this.
There's NO WAY Nader is going to get MORE support this time than last time. He will get LESS support. He can't even get on half the ballots at this late date!

7. Nader is TOTALLY SIGNIFICANT. He destroys Unity and Winner Image for
Kerry and democrats. Regardless of votes he sure is pulling attention and poll numbers away from Kerry.

16. I don't think we can assume that. There are people who
are genuinely alarmed by Nader's presence in this race.

17. All I know is what I read here on DU.
Something is very, very wrong when a DEMOCRATIC board has post after post undermining, not on ideological bases, but pure conjecture, our presumptive presidential nominee.

18. It may not be undermining. It may be concern, and there's
nothing wrong with that.

I remember the genuine concern I had about Nader voters during the 2000 election. I didn't voice it strongly enough--there were many very good people who voted for Nader.

19. Well, friend, this time you and I need to voice that concern loud
and clear. We have 8 months to protect our nation from a total fascist take over. Can we all, at least on DU, just wake up - HELLO - to this fact?

20. Since Nader is so insignificant, why in the hell we spend so much
time on DU posting about him? Just ignore the whore for Bush*.
He is nothing more than a sliver in your finger which bothers
you a lot but can cause no harm.

I am sick and tired of hearing about Nader.
