Jesse Jackson and the race card
Several weeks ago on CNN Jackson praised Edwards' plan to fight poverty, yet he would not endorse him. Clearly he was waiting for the black candidate to say "me too."

And this was well before Bill Clinton jumped into the campaign.

If this does not mean that there is a race element in the race, I don't know what is.

How influential is Jackson in the black community, if at all?

1. Ummm....Jesse Jackson said he was supporting Obama last March, well
before any of this became so ugly.

3. Even though he was more impressed with Edwards' plan
Is this what is happening to many of Obama supporters? They don't know much about his platform but, hey, he is the black candidate.

"Where is the beef?"

4. Do you agree with every single thing your candidate proposes? I sure
don't. I don't expect to have anyone that I agree with 100%. You can praise one point of someone's platform, but disagree with the rest of it and not support that candidate. Jackson praised Edwards plan. Did he say it was better than Obama's? Did he say it was better than Hillary's? Or did he just praise Edwards' plan? I would guess that Jackson knows Obama's platform pretty well. He's from Chicago.

2. Jesse Jackson has no choice. His son represents a Chicago House district
If Jackson endorsed Obama there would be recriminations from Obama's Illinois and Chicago political machines.
