Chappaquiddik, drunk Teddy, windsurfing Kerry, spineless Leahy
and ignorant bon bon eating Caroline.

Sad and sick.

Here's what you do when a candidate you don't support gets an endorsement:

Nothing

or

Congratulations

You don't go tearing at those endorsing like a pack of slavering dogs. I saw it with RFK Jr and McGovern when they endorsed Clinton and now it's reached an even more putrid level with Obama's endorsements.

It sucks.

You're really not coming off well here. The OP makes a good point, and all you do is turn it around into a pitty party for Bill Clinton.

I'd like to let you in on something. Bill Clinton isn't running this time. It's not about him. It's about picking the right candidate to take the Democratic banner into the general election. And I'm sorry, but Hillary Clinton isn't it.

Don't really need a search function, I've been reading and posting in current topics all along and have witnessed it first-hand. But if we must take a brief look, we can just click back through the last few pages of GD: P and find gems like;

Clinton's stupid to be doing this. Just assinine to be pointing out that *gasp* Obama is black. What a low creep.

I'll be praying that Floridians turn out to reject the Clintons like SC voters did. And until 6 weeks ago SC was Clinton country- in case you don't recall. Obama won't win, but he could throw yet another wrench in Madame Entitled's campaign. I certainly hope fervently that he will. She's a walking talking disaster for dems.

DUers using classic Repug talking points -- "Billary", "Chappaquiddik", "drunk Teddy", "windsurfing Kerry", etc. -- I wasn't around before '04, so I don't know if this is politics as usual during primary season. But I'm seeing more Repug talking points, more links to Repug attacks than I've ever seen before on DU.

17. Are you saying that Bill's campaign tactics were not a factor in Kennedy's
decision to endorse Obama or just that it wasn't the only factor? I would hope that no one would contend that there is one and only one reason why anyone endorses one of our candidates. I do believe that Kennedy has expressed dissatisfaction with Bill's campaign tactics. Was that the only reason for his Obama endorsement? Probably not. I would be surprised, though, if it were not one factor.

Just like I respect "senile" George McGovern, "pandering" Wes Clark, "Republican" Ambassador Joe Wilson, and "opportunistic" RFK Jr.

The Kennedy's, all of them with Ted Kennedy at the top of the list, are life long dedicated Democrats who have worked long and hard on our behalf. And they sure as hell have suffered for it. They all have earned our deep and abiding respect.

27. Actually, I thought that Kerry had some rather harsh comments re the Clinton campaign ---
harsh and uncalled for ---

in particularly when he never bothered to defend himself during his own campaign!!!!

I haven't made any comments on these endorsements, but I will say now that they don't impress me
BECAUSE of who is doing the endorsing.

37. Untrue on both counts
Kerry did defend himself in 2004 and even if he didn't - he has the right to defend other candidates from lies - as he has done for many others for decades. Including Bill Clinton when he was attacked in the 1990s.

Kerry has spoken against lies and against voter suppression. He was right.

38. I think one of us should actually post Kerry's comments which I read last night ---
they make accusations against Bill Clinton which are harsh and which I consider untrue ---

Kerry DID NOT sufficiently defend himself in 2004 from being "swiftboated" --
he was a milquetoast on that issue ---

AND, Kerry certainly collapsed immediately on election fraud after promising to challenge it --

Additionally, Kerry gave very little challenge to his fellow "Skull & Bonesman" -- Bush.

As we had already been moved to war --- and to destruction of our Treasury ---
surplus gone, peace gone.

Kerry was essentially useless.
Just what the Republicans wanted --- and he provided it!

41. You mention S&B but saying that Clinton abused truth is bad
You are clearly in the tank for Clinton - who yes lied - as he is prone to doing.

As to Kerry - before August the media had:
- 100 plus pages of Naval records - all glowing
- The Navy's verification that he did earn the prestigious medals they gave him
- Brinkley, a noted accademic historian was 100% behind him
- the living members of his crews when he got medals were all behind him
- The Nixon tapes showed they investigated him and found he was a war hero

Trying comparing that to how Bill Clinton fought back. The usual method - deny, lie, scapecoat, blame, than admit the truth when forced to but bite your lip to show that you are really just an innocent old boy. (Look at either the draft or the Flowers issue.)

As to Ohio - there is STILL NOT A CASE that can be brought to court. Kerry continued to fight Bush even after his loss - even though Clinton was often pulling him back as on Kerry/Feingold.

sex life --- ??? !!!! What nonsense!!

While our lives have been TORTURED by the Bush regime, murdering 2 million Iraqis ---
bankrupting our Treasury -- and probably about now delivering another Great Depression -- !!! ????

Whatever the corporate-press had, it certainly wasn't defending Kerry --- !!!

One of these issues was a matter of government records --
the other a personal sexual issue --- where entrapment was used.
There is no comparison.

There is no case in Ohio because we haven't had sufficiently strong enough government investigations of the whole computer voting issue --- and basically there can be no defense for computer voting --
which, btw, was introduced during the mid-1960's!!

I don't know what "fight" you saw against Bush . . . but I didn't see Kerry anywhere near him.

Oh, I like Dean and Clark, and at least I haven't forgotten their strong and spirited defenses of Kerry when the Swifties made their rounds. They were excellent surrogates.

Were you following their lead in refuting the lies, or just complaining about Kerry? I bet you were just doing the latter like you are now.

Dean and Clark did the right thing, it's too bad their "supporters" believe in hindsight talk and just love to tear Kerry down to promote them just because he beat them in the 04 primaries.

Another example of right wing memes and talking points creeping into Dem primary discussions.

If posters can't make points about their candidate without resorting to tired, right wing ad hominem attacks, they need to reconsider how much good they're doing for their candidate.

Especially Kerry who is guilty of each "sin" Obama's carefully selected from pre-2005 votes that Edwards and Hillay are. Leahy is guilty of four out of five and Kennedy three out of five. The hypocrisy of Obamites knows no bounds. They swiftboat Edwards and Hillary as DINOs by lying and distorting their records and the history of those five votes and then then cheer folks who did much the same because they are endorsing Obama.

76. Hence I thought it must be sarcastic
since the OP is talking about NOT being divisive and nasty, and it appeared that you were directing your words at him, and not the people he's talking about.

Who is the "someone" who needs a nap, because it sounded like you were saying it was cali? Which is why I was hoping you were missing a smilie.
