I don't think this helps him with the independents or republicans he is so desperately trying to go after. Indies and Republicans hate Ted Kennedy. If there is one person the conservative movement has trashed more than Bill Clinton or Hillary Clinton, his name is Ted Kennedy. Now the republicans in the general election will have lots of campaign appearances to make attack ads linking Obama to Kennedy as a liberal.

Also hispanics, union members, working class whites will not be jammed a "product" like Obama down their throats. They like Bill and Hillary. They liked the 1990's and the good times associated with it. For them it's personal. They don't care about being inspired or having hope or dreams or warm fuzzy rememberance of the 1960's and JFK. They care about health care, saving social security, mortgage foreclosures, their jobs.

Ted Kennedy, like John Kerry, the rabid frothing media, and every newspaper editorial board, will not be able to sell "Obama" to these people.

2. You see, the Obamites would say the same thing...
had Kennedy endorsed Clinton.
But because it's the "messiah" :puke: it doesn't matter.
I also want more than "warm fuzzy" memories of the 1960's and JFK.

2/5 is the big day.

3. He already has the young and new voters.
This will help pick off some from Hillary's base; like my parents. They both think the Kennedy endorsements are a big deal.

4. Do as I say.....not as I do..........
or something to that effect.

Obama is anti-establishment when he needs to suck young, naive voters into his vortex.

23. Right, only attack Bill Clinton.
After all, his personal indiscretions can be highlighted by the RW. They would never do that to Teddy, right?

9. Given they are concerned with:
They care about health care, saving social security, mortgage foreclosures, their jobs. Then it IS Kennedy, not Clinton they would thank. He was the one that extended health insurance - with medicare, medicaid and S-CHIP, where Kerry worked with him on the precursor bill. He also did not vote for the 2001 bankruptcy bill that HRC voted for.

It seems that the Clintons lobbied both very hard for their endorsements. So, obviously the Clintons thought they had value.

honest enough to realize the Democratic Party needs new leadership and a new direction.

32. It has been said that he doesn't have enough experience to be president.
He looks forward, indeed, while at the same time being supported by such men shows that they believe in him.

They are passing the torch, if you will.
