14. I think ALL choices are partially true, but I mainly blame Gore...
...he really laid over and died during the recount...come...Christopher making hsi case...he needed someone who could like as well as james Baker and get headlines.

In his defense, no Dems came out to back him up. They really left him out there on his own.

So, after writing this, I say the spineless Dems in Congress lost it for him.

My, how some things never change.

16. We lost the White House because the Supreme Court
issued an opinion stopping the recount in Florida. It was an opinion that most legal experts condemned, as well as the 51 million voters who cast a vote for Gore. Gore won the popular vote, and that fact is often omitted in discussions on this issue.

Why did the Supreme Court stop the recount, in a 5-4 decision? Because there were 7 Republicans and 2 Democrats sitting on the Court, some of which Republicans had been appointed by Nixon/Reagan/Bush. The swing vote, Sandra Day O'Connor, is and was a Republican and today still refers to that intervention as a no-brainer. Others call it a theft. The truly interesting point is that the passionate dissent to that opinion was ALSO WRITTEN BY A REPUBLICAN, Justice Stevens, whose scathing written word scorched the paper on which it was written. In essence, he said the Court had absolutely no legal standing to intervene in the dispute but had done so purely for political reasons. He is a true hero.

17. Thank you for phrasing the question correctly. GORE DID NOT LOSE IN 2000.
Gore did lose the White House because of (in this order) (1) widespread rethuglican dirty tricks--voter purging, voter caging, voter intimidation, crooked machines, jeb bush, cruella de harris--remember the Florida statewide effort to elect cheney*/bush* was controlled by the same people that controlled the electoral infrastructure, to the point that harris--one of the chairpersons to elect cheney*/bush*--actually ran the campaign from her Secretary of State office; (2) a biased, partisan rethuglican SCOTUS; (3) a biased, partisan, corporate-controlled media intent on cheney*/bush* winning; Faux News and bush* first cousin John Ellis calling the election for bush*; and finally,(4)EXTREMELY BAD ADVICE and counsel by so-called Democratic strategists.

21. The fact that this is still even in question
is a sign that we have not learned a single fucking thing.

The entire planet will suffer the consequences of this.
