Tonight's debate, this is bad
Edited on Mon Jan-21-08 09:05 PM by pinkflower21
Okay, so I almost never post here. I just read most of the time, but I had to turn off the debate in the middle of it. I'm for Obama, but I thought tonight's exchange between Obama and Hillary made them both look bad. I wouldn't be surprised if South Carolina decided to just vote for Edwards. I have already read that some of you are really enjoying this debate and love it, and at first I have to admit I thought I was, but then the level of discourse just kept getting lower and lower and lower, so I had to turn my TV off....not to mention thoughts of how bad these 2 Democrats are just trying to demolish one another when it should be the Republican party that they focus on. I also kept wondering if the primary is this bad, I can't even imagine what the general election is going to be like...I for sure won't be able to watch any of those debates. My thoughts also turn to how will the Democratic party unite in November with this kind of animosity between Barack and Hillary. It's just awful. I'm just so dispirited right now. I know everyone assumes the Democrats will win no matter who we nominate in November because the Republicans have screwed up so bad, but I don't make any assumptions. I swear, if these Democrats don't stop fighting amongst themselves they will take the party down before the Republicans even have a chance to. I mean I can see the Republicans right now just eating this up, taking notes on the charges Obama and Hillary are leveling at one another and preparing to use all of this information against the Democratic nominee. Barack and Hillary are just playing right into the Republicans hands.

1. I hear ya.
"I know everyone assumes the Democrats will win no matter who we nominate in November because the Republicans have screwed up so bad, but I don't make any assumptions."

Especially if Clinton is the nominee.

2. I just logged on, and began streaming and Clinton and Edwards are speaking clearly and with
articulation about the situation in Iraq.

Now, Obama.

Reading your "woe is me post" provides some cognitive dissonance. MKJ

3. Edwards finally gets it!!!!
It seems as though Edwards is really hell bent on calling out Barrack on all his double talk. Clinton is playing the boys masterfully!!!

5. Well, in my humble opinion, them deciding ...
to vote for Edwards is a positive thing, not a throwaway vote at all.

Could it be that unlike hmhnf, we have a real Obama supporter waking up to find they have been played all along?

Welcome to the corporate nightmare we Edwards supporters have known all along, that NEITHER Hillary or Obama is right...or perhaps they are RIGHT, but in the wrong way.

They are too right leaning, Repub-lite Corporatists who don't share the core values of the Progressive wing of the Party.

We all lose, if either one wins.

THINK about what you have seen and process it.

THINK!!!!

9. And let's not be rude like some of the Obama and Clinton supporters, pleeeeeeze.
I mean, you can if ya want - as can anyone - and many of us sure as shit may be tempted to be rude to a few of them who have spent a lot of energy slamming Edwards and us simply for supporting our candidate.

But let's not sink to their level. Not all their supporters, but quite a few, and it's not just the low post counters either.

10. Its called an agenda
This whole candidacy issue has been scripted long ago, by the Corporatist M$M, for the benefit of the Corporatists.

No surprise here. Why do you think John speaks so passionately about them?
