Mr. "Reporting for Duty" misfires once again
... why announce this in South Carolina, of all places?
Wouldn't this have helped more three days ago in Manchester, New Hampshire?
If Kerry had done it there and then, it would have had much more influence on his neighboring state than a Yankee coming to Charleston. This seems like vintage Kerry --
a day late and a dollar short....

1. He probably didn't decide until after NH
but yes --obviously --this would have been better for Obama in NH

3. He probably still hasn't decided.
He could still change his mind.

4. News reports said he decided right before Iowa but waited
because they didn't know what effect news coming out just before the caucuses would have. Same would have held true of NH, I guess. Fact is, Obama had a hell of a narrative going and interrupting it for something like this wouldn't have made much sense. He's alleged to have had a good SC field operation, so it's a timely announcement.

5. Not exactly smooth
Agreed. Kerry has never been one for perfect timing. It seems everyone (rightfully so) bashes Bush on his public speaking skills; but quite frankly, would Kerry have been much better? He may form sentences better but he uses those grammatically correct sentences at the wrong times.
