1. A bit off topic but what time does this
fund raiser start? Since I can't afford to go (and I would love to), I just want to make sure it does't mess with my commute (Grand Hyatt adjacent to Grand Central Terminal)

12. Thanks for the info
It probably will mess with rush hour but such is life during a primary/general election season in NYC.

3. It's a triumph for your guy.
Why are you focusing on the "hurt" to our only serious woman candidate for president? Is that all Obama means, stepping on others? Is causing pain the way Obama will unite us?

Yah, good to know he's a uniter, not a divider.

4. Because, it's fun for them. Most don't even know what a Delegate or Electoral College represents...
either.

5. God, get over yourself. I meant it has to hurt to turn away supporters,
but I guess you're too thick to understand that. :eyes:

6. some people purposfully look for a way to read a comment wrong
Edited on Tue Jan-08-08 03:23 PM by Bodhi BloodWave
Ergo they will find it no matter how harmless a comment is

I must admit i find some of the commenters on the site amusing tho, specially the unverified Matt

I'd say about the only good thing about Obama is that he IS against the war! I went to the guy's website so I'll know what I'm talking about when I bash him the rest of the year (I'm a Libertarian - not a Republican). I don't think there is a single aspect of American life he doesn't want to stick his fingers into. His website reads like an old Soviet Six Year Plan. Why not let him set quotas for shoes, soap and butter and be done with it! These idiot politicians (both sides) seem to think they can run the economy like a Soviet Tsar. And all you cretins out there think it will work!

Socialism DOES NOT work! It runs counter to human nature. It runs counter to our Constitution (the very document these idiots take an oath to uphold) It has failed repeatedly in North Korea, Cuba, USSR and everywhere else it is tried. Why you bunch of nitwits think it will work here is beyond me. Do us all a favor - get the government OUT of our lives and let peace, freedom and the free market govern. It's why we are the richest nation on earth. If you want one moron running the whole country by force...feel free to move to Cuba. Last I checked people were dying to get out of there - not the other way around.

and Nick

Can someone please tell me what people see in this guy? His views are way left, he doesn't support the military, he's soft on terror, he doesn't support the war, he wants to raise taxes, he wants open borders and he's part of a church that is run by an admitted racist.

Going by them atleast we can put the 'Obama is a right-winger' meme to rest :P

Obviously tho they don't have much grasp on the facts on things >.>

7. Especially this one; rarely a kind word for their candidate, just
snark for everyone else. It gets tiresome!

8. Yet you purposefully leave out the Socialist Democratic states of Scandinavia
who rate the happiest in the world, all have health care, all have access to free or very cheap education, there is room for entrepreneurship (see Nokia & Ikea). They are way closer to Socialism than Capitalism.

Sides, i didn't want to seem to bragging about my own country which is Norway :hippie:
The way i like to see Norway is a socialist country with just enough capitalists to be successful (the capitalists are growing tho :spank: )

9. The event can only hold so many people...
The ballroom that this event is in can only hold 400 people.. what are they suppose to do when more then 400 people want to show up? Have the hotel add a new ballroom for the night to accommodate everyone?

It's definitely a good problem to have!
