Notes from Iowa primary Edwards owes the fire fighters, Dodd, and Biden

I drove a former Republican to her precinct #7 in Council Bluffs. She swithed over because of the war and health care. After the first count of votes it was clear Edwards was second choice for most of the didn't have a valid candidate group. All the Biden supporters went to Edwards. Dodd's fire fighters in bright yellow t-shirts left the room to talk (and perhaps make a call). When they came back in the room they all went to the Edwards group. This seems to be what the fire fighters did state wide.

You don't believe one vote is important? Had just one of the people that switched to Clinton come to the Edwards group, Edwards would have picked up 1 delegate, and cost Hillary one of hers. A two delegate swing in other words.

One of the small Western Iowa towns I called Thursday was decidedly Edwards. A grade school boy (I think 4th grade) had knocked on every door in his town. It made a difference. I sent the info up the line, and I had the lady telling me about it call the office to pass the word along.
