Schwarzenegger: California will sue federal government
http://www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/12/20/california.emissions/

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to sue the federal government over its decision not to allow a California plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, he announced Thursday.

Environmental Protection Agency chief Stephen Johnson announced the decision Wednesday, refusing the state's request for a waiver that would have allowed it to cut emissions faster than a new federal plan the president signed into law Wednesday.

"It's another example of the administration's failure to treat global warming with the seriousness that it actually demands," the governor said at a news conference Thursday.

But Schwarzenegger said he would like to set a higher standard for California. "Anything less than aggressive action on the greatest environmental threat of all time is inexcusable," he said.

13. Same here.
Arnie thumbing his nose AGAIN at the Republican party, winning hearts and minds in the process.
The Senate will be his next stop, buh bye Diane Feinstein. Ironic - we have a Republican
acting like a Dem, and a Dem acting like a Republican.

11. Mine too
Now it's at -15 :)
I can never forgive him for vetoing the state health care bill passed overwhelmingly by the legislature!
"Social medicine is bad" my sore fucking foot!(gout)
But he has done some things that could pass as intelligent.
Has the gubornator finally gotten rid of Pete Wilson (yes THAT Pete wilson who was using AS as a 3rd term) as his gerbles and gotten someone with a conscience?

I'm a little behind on local politics :(

4. I think Jerry Brown is having a lot of positive influence on him
Looks like Arnold is recognizing Brown as a brillant man and taking his advice.

7. He'd better file suit.
Californians don't take kindly to anyone who goes along with polluting their environment.

According to something I read lately, California will probably prevail in court.

10. Credit Where Credit Is Due
This is the right thing he's doing. I would still never vote for the guy, or totally trust him, but I will say he's NOT the horrible nightmare I expected him to be. He still not all that great, but he's also not as bad as I expected. Harumph! Keep surprising me Ahnold, it's IS nice to see.

16. Good for Arnold.
Can't say I've liked everything he's done. He wasn't good at all from the starting line. But he's been halfway decent lately. Halfway. Now if we could teach him that it's California, not Cal-E-fornia.
