Thom Hartmann
Edited on Thu Dec-20-07 01:59 PM by Jeff In Milwaukee
Just opened up his lines, telling callers just to say who they're voting for among the Democratic candidates.

Overwhelmingly went for Edwards -- very overwhelmingly for Edwards -- like nearly everybody. Kucinich was second, but it was pretty distant. A few scattered votes for the others (including one wiseguy who would vote for John Bolton "straight up" and another who would vote for Higgins -- Thom's cat).

Edit/Update: He took votes right up to the top of the hour. He'll be back with totals in a couple of mintes.

Edit: It's Thursday at 1:00 p.m. CST (I hate it when people post something current but don't tell when it's happening)

3. Actually, the wiseguy voted for MICHAEL Bolton
Which might not be a bad idea, if it meant he would never sing again.

Thom does this telephone straw poll at least once a week, and Edwards or Kucinich usually walk away with it. Probably more Edwards in the last few weeks.

6. I don't know which I find more disturbing...
Michael Bolton or John Bolton. I think I agree with you -- if he puts his singing career in a blind trust.

4. Results...
To explain a little, Thom was running a "straw poll" among his callers. There were to give just their area code and who they would vote for if the Democratic Primary were being held today. The final results are:

Edwards - 38
Kucinich - 27
Clinton - 4
Obama - 3
Dodd - 2
Richardson - 2
Biden - 1
Al Gore - 1
Jimmy Carter - 1
John Bolten - 1
Ron Paul - 1
Higgins - 2
