Tweety: Des Moines trying to "kill tv" Why corp media hated the best debate
Tweety in his own words, this afternoon complained that it was killing us because it was boring.

So the FUCK what?

I am not watching to be entertained. That is exactly the problem with the "news" and "debates" and the like.

It was far from perfect. In fact, I doubt that any of us really learned much from this debate, but for casual voters, etc,.

They got to see generally relevant questions and the most well rounded speaking time, and for that corporate media could learn a lot.

1. How could it be the best debate
When they deliberately excluded the best candidate? :(

3. I agree with you...
If Tweety wants to be entertained, tell him to attend a monster truck rally and
shut it.

The media constantly underestimates the public. They think we need dramatic music,
sweeping graphics and presidential candidates who glide on the stage during a light
show--as if a debate is a sporting event.

Tweety needs to understand that we're all grown ups. Some of us like it when
the candidates talk about issues and ideas. It's not boring. That's how it should be.

I've had enough razzle-dazzle, neon news, delivered by a pair of giant, lips slathered
in "Poppies on Fire" lipstick by Lancome.

Give me something real.

6. What debate?
That was a poorly orchestrated Q & A.

And sorta boring. Probably because it wasn't a real debate.

9. NONE of them are real "debates" That said, Des Moines didn't treat it like American Idol

7. debate
You may call it boring or whatever, but it certainly contained more intelligence in the first ten minutes then yesterdays whole debate. IMHO the candidates that were there gave a pretty good presentation.

8. It's a political debate, not NASCAR.
I enjoy both. If I want to know what our next president will be like, I'll watch a debate. If I want excitment I'll watch a race or do something else. Funny thing is that they sometimes both have wrecks.

10. It's not only Tweety! If you listened to the talking heads on all the
networks, they were all disappointed because there were no fights, no jabs. They want a battle! I liked today's debate, mostly because there were no fights! Yea the mod was a no nonsense teacher type, but it's not the mod who is supposed to get the attention, is it?

I'm really looking forward to the Iowa caucuses and the other early votes. I HOPE the voters show all these media AH'S how foolish they really are! They all talk like they know what the public is really thinking, and I think they are wrong
