Who could run as Independent Party candidate and siphon off some Republican
votes? I'm deadly serious. I'm not sure if Bill Clinton could have won the first time if Ross Perot had not run. And by the same standard, Ralph Nader's run hurt the Democratic Party.

I wish George Soros would put some of his money into a third candidate that gain Republican votes.

but im not sure if he is well regarded among republicans.

BTW, I don't think Soros would seriously fund the type of person right-wing enough to win republicann votes. never know though.

5. Go PatGo!!
If he picked Roy "the hangin' judge" Moore as his running mate you would get half the religious reich and most of the anti-globalist 'Pukes away from the Chimp ticket. I was hoping Pat's newly acquired free time (after being fired from MSRNC)would be used in exploring his options for a Presidential run.

Hell, even if by some rip in the time space continuum he actually won the election, I'd still prefer him to Bush. Sure much of his domestic agenda would really suck, but there would be no more PNAC global fascism and no more NAFTA/WTO bullshit.

14. Exactly...
Hes one of the libertarians against Bush and the PNAC. Be great if he ran. At least our international policy wouldn't suck so bad, and if he were true to libertarian doctrine, then that should bring some sorta shutdown to coorporate giveaways (but they never are true, and revert to greed upon chance).

As for McCain, hed never run. Stuck too far in between Bush's cheeks

But this is a minor focus. The real focus is to educate them masses rather than pander to the right-wing with candidates who appeal to their ignorance on issues. Bring people left and steal votes ourselves.

2. YOUR TASK...
should you choose to accept it...

is to convert AS MANY Republicans as possible to Libertarians this coming year.

"Libertarians are the ONLY party still standing for limited , Constitutional government.."

"Bush has increased domestic spending more than Clinton ever dreamed"

etc etc etc

Use the arguments on your freeper friends and they will be converted...costin the GOP valuable votes from their true "conservative", non neo-con base.

3. Former AL SC Judge Roy Moore
He is planning a run with the Constitution Party and will strip off a lot of fundies from Dubya -- they're angry he didn't "defend the Ten Commandments monument" in the AL State SC building. Be sure to send him a $50 contribution!

6. I heard from a fan of his that he might run....
But at the time, he was saying he'd be making "an important announcement next week," and then I never heard anything else. I checked the Cobstitution Party website, and it doesn't show him as their candidate. I know they do support him, though. My very conservative (non-neocon) friend wants him to run sooooo bad. He hates Bush as much as I do, but won't vote Dem. he plans to vote Constitution Party, and feels it could be quite a sting to Bush if Moore is the candidate. He has very strong support with the far right.

7. You're looking for a third party in the wrong place
The place for a third party is right in the middle between the two parties, drawing voters from both. This party is not about the dirty word "centrism," which has come to mean accepting corporate donations to both parties. Rather, it is about populism of the type McCain appealed to in the 2000 Republican primaries and Dean is courting now with his internet movement. It is to Dean's credit that he is attempting to make a run through the Democratic party, but he is far from in synch with the "centrists" of the party leadership.

Personally, I would love to see the two parties split up into groups that actually represented their different agendas. Maybe five or so political parties -- perhaps the libertarians, the conservatives, the neo-cons, the centrists, and the liberals. That will mean no one party can dominate to push a radical agenda of any stripe and "across the aisle" cooperation would become an absolute necessity. Make no mistake that most of the issues we have come to call "liberal" will become viewed as common sense in that political environment.

Then again, who the hell cares what I want?

9. So you are saying
none of our guys can do the job and we need non-democratic help? Man, that's an abysmal perspective.

Do we believe our values are sufficient?
Gore won the popular vote (despite Nader).
Have some faith in our beliefs.

If we can't win outright we have no mandate to govern and ought to lose.

Dean is the man. Stop fighting and unite.

It isn't rocket science.

13. Bad idea
Its like going back in time and stepping on a bug a million years ago. If you get back here at all you might not like what you find.

Be careful what you ask for, you may get it.
