Huckabee hasn't been challenged on his evangelical views
I hear all this talk about Huckabee being a strong candidate, but the fact of the matter is he isn't electable.
What do you guys think?

I was falling for his nice-guy persona, (which I think he is), but the more I read about him and his past statements with regards to gays, aids, evolution, and his strong religious viewpoints, WHY isnt he being more challenged? Is it because he just recently has become more electable?

What I am trying to say is with Mike Huckabee, we will be electing exactly what our founding fathers didn't want in office- a preacher, or representative of the right wing, evangelical stance in politics.

I would hope that he will get slammed and the American people will realize that with Mike Huckabee I do not see how possibly we could get a president and not a preacher.

If we thought W was bad in regards to his religious references, Huckabee will be 10x worse....Not exactly what is necessary in changing America's demolished image in the Muslim world.

Try the ENTIRE world dude. Our rep has realy (and I'm not over accentuating this) gone down the toilet on all levels.

I've yet to meet the nation that likes our all-'Murkan Jesus nuts.

2. One of the Rules of American "Journalism" is That You Many Not Criticize a "Christian"
Because of this, no challenges to Huckabee's radical fundie views will be permitted to be aired.

3. because challenging Huckabee on evangelical terms can
only be done by another evangelical and there is not one in the the GOP bunch. Challenging him on his fundamentalist beliefs is a different matter... because clearly seveal of the GOP candidates are not fundies. But the problem is SOuth Carolina. If you attack his fundmantalist views it might be viewed negatively in SOuth Carolina and unless you finish in the top three in SC you are a goner.

THe pont in par is that evangelicalism has nothing to do with politics, but has everything to do with faith where as fundamentalism has everything to do with politics ans nothing to do with faith. The Terms are not not mutually exclusive, but they are not interchangable either.

4. Huckleberry needs some consultants to teach him how to keep his mouth shut
And he'd be the most formidable GOP candidate. Since he's demonstrated that he's just going to say whatever batshit crazy thing comes to mind, he's a general election liability although not unelectable. Again, this is why I think Romney will win the nomination.
