Contiuing our discussions about how economically progressive Barack Obama is:
The institution known as "Citizens for Tax Justice", whose mission is to fight for:

* Fair taxes for middle and low-income families
* Requiring the wealthy to pay their fair share
* Closing corporate tax loopholes
* Adequately funding important government services
* Reducing the federal debt
* Taxation that minimizes distortion of economic markets"

rated all senators in the period of 2005-06 based on how their votes ooincided with the goals above.

Barack Obama received a 100% rating while Clinton received an also good 80%.
Others who received 100% were Joe Biden, Dennis Kucinich, John Murtha, Ted Kennedy, John Kerry, Stenny Hoyer, Chris Dodd, Nancy Pelosi, Henry Waxman, Maxine Waters, Jane Harman, Barbara Boxer, Pat Leahy, John Rockefeller, and several more that I won't type because I just got tired.

3. How come these think tanks all contradict one another? This info seems screwed.
How can Biden be at 100% when he voted for the bankrupcy bill?

8. Just maybe he voted for it for the right reasons.
There are a lot of small business owners who were constantly getting screwed before the bankruptcy laws were changed, driving many with limited working capital out of business. I know from personal experience. There's still room for improvement, but it would be a mistake to simply undo the legislation that Biden voted in favor of. Many Americans think we should pay our debts rather than throw it onto the backs of middle class tax payers. Perhaps that's why Sen. Biden has a 100% rating.

9. I've never even gotten a bad check
I've been in business for myself most of my adult life and bankruptcy isn't anywhere near the top of the problems I deal with. Working people buy from me and they fall below the median income and still qualify for bankruptcy. This bill was for auto loans, health care, and the credit industry.
