Hillary did the right thing, and complied with the request of the police to lay low. There will probably be a tad amount of sympathy, and then, unless there are copycats, that part of the story will fade out.

Obama has had significant SS protection for a while. This event highlights that he, more than any other candidate, suffers the greatest risk of assassination. And assuming that he responds to this event involving his top opponent for the nomination with the grace that just comes so naturally, people will begin to think about the danger he faces day in and day out.

We have two of the biggest targets, a black man, a woman, either of whom could easily win the nomination and the election. There is a small collection, small and insane nuts, listening to talk radio 24/7, and the more often that Rush spews the crap he does, or Milkin makes a threat, this group will take matters into their own hands.

This event highlights the danger that dem candidates face, in particular Hillary and Barack. It may start people thinking about that threat, and about having to live with such threats each and every day. And soon, people will realize that both Hillary and Barack are quite brave to continue on. slogging around from hotel to hotel, missing family and friends, not being in your own house, being "on" for countless meetings, making thousands of calls a week, begging for money(nicely) eating bad food on the run, and getting dressed up again and again, preparing, orating, planning, responding and learning about new issues. It is no easy job. In fact, I personally think you have to be nuts to try.

I suspect that people will empathize with the candidates just for having to deal with threats.
