I could have sworn all the complaints I've read accusing repubs and conservatives of hypocrisy and double standards when they do things liberals generally find acceptable but which conservatives/repubs don't actually originated with liberals.

Perhaps they were really progressives? Or maybe they were really conservative trolls hanging out here since 2002 and 2003 with post counts in the many thousands? After all, the dictum is that "conservatives will attack liberals who are caught doing the stuff that liberals condemn", so maybe it was just a case of poorly attempted mimicry?

So hard to know.

3. I believe that the official DU response, if there were such a thing,

would be that liberals condemn the hypocrisy of conservatives when they do things ... That way we can get in a condemnation (for hypocrisy) of whichever conservative it happens to be, while still maintaining our high ground of not judging the morality of their behavior (indeed we might not find anything wrong with their behavior at all). Ahhh, have your cake and eat it, too. Delicious. ;)
