Edwards Campaign: Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin to Speak to Iowa Farmers Union on behald of Senator Edwards Tonight

Des Moines, Iowa - The John Edwards for President campaign announced today that Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth Sandlin will give the keynote address on behalf of Senator John Edwards at the Iowa Farmers Union State Convention tonight in Des Moines.

Herseth Sandlin is South Dakota's at-large Member of Congress. She co-chairs the House Rural Working Group, which is dedicated to raising the profile of issues important to rural America. She is a national leader and advocate for the increased production of homegrown, renewable biofuels like ethanol and biodiesel.

“I am proud to have endorsed John Edwards for president because he is the candidate of rural America, the candidate from rural America and he’ll be the president who will stand up and fight for rural America,” said Herseth Sandlin.

Last week, during his “Fighting for One America” bus tour across Iowa, Edwards showed the strength of his campaign by announcing the support of more than 1,000 Iowans from rural communities in all 99 counties who have agreed to caucus for him. Edwards also outlined a comprehensive strategy to help young people in rural America find opportunity close to home so they aren't forced to leave their communities and his plan to get Iowa’s biofuels on America’s roads.
