This is my wife's theory : Rove leaving the Administration is dangerous to Dems
Okay this is what my wife is beginning to wonder.

Rove talked to key Repugs telling them when his last day is done that is the time for Repugs to jump onto the impeaching Gonzo and even Bush and Chaney so that the Repugs can look like heroes. He is going to spin everything so that the Dems look like they are once again unable to lead the country and it was not until the Republicans pulled us out of Iraq etc that we are going to do good.

Think about it. He defects the spotlight off of himself and completely on the "Good" republican are doing hence making them look good.

2. I've wondered if the GOP would be the party to initiate impeachment
against Bush/Cheney/Gonzalez. At this point, all three are a liabililty for the party. All of the GOP candidates are trying to distance themselves somewhat from Bush, his name is rarely brought up in debates, and none of them want to be seen with him on the campaign trail.

Definitely tin foil hat to some degree, but is it totally off the wall to believe it could happen?

I don't think so.

5. It would actually
be a good way for them to drum up support for next year, but I doubt it will happen. Bush has something on most of these guys, including our own.

6. Yeah, I've wondered when self-preservation would set in.
I'm sure they are counting the days until Bush & Co. are gone. I'd love to know what these guys talk about behind closed doors.

3. I don't think they could do that
since the dems have the majority, they would control all the proceedings so they could shape everything in their own favor.

7. I say not very likely
If Rove were going to push impeachment he would have used the opportunity of his resignation toward propagandizing such a move.

10. I'm not celebrating Rove's departure.

Instead I'm wondering "What's that snake up to now?"

The only time I'll be celebrating is after they drive a stake through his heart, cut off his head and stuff garlic in his mouth.

Best case, it's Rove throwing Bush under the bus (especially considering all the other resignations.) Bush very well may be driven possibly to impeachment, definitely to irrelevance, but Rove's machinations will probably continue, probably to bring one of the GOP presidential candidates into power with the usual array of cheats and dirty tricks.
