Edited on Fri Jul-20-07 03:27 PM by DinoBoy
I'm not looking for a flamewar, I'm just curious where everyone is right now.

4. I'm hoping Gore gets in
but it's looking less likely every week. Edwards is my 2nd choice followed by Richardson.

8. Me, too. I can't decide between Edwards or Richardson. I like them both.
In a way I hate to admit it but I hope Al doesn't run as the long knives are already out for him and he is just too gallant and too much of a classy statesman to go down to the gutter and fight them tooth and nail.

I hope the other two would be able to do that as they are younger and haven't gone to the "mattresses" as much as Al had to do in 2000 and even now whenever he does anything public.

You've got to be able to be 100% caveman to deal with this scum.

10. With all due respect, I have to say you couldn't be more wrong. Dean was the
real deal and Obama is a cagey opportunist, in my opinion. Howard had and has the heart of a lion while Obama has the innards of a calculator.

19. Obama is not Dean.
Those of you comparing the two are just not aware how angry it makes people.

To make it sound like Obama is smart enough to not make mistakes...to make him sound so superior to someone else who is working their heart out for the party knowing the elites in the party will eventually do him in anyway...is not winning hearts and minds.

The only reason I take it somewhat personally is because I'm a broke grad student but I make a sacrifice to donate to Obama's campaign monthly.

I now think I should have gone with Dean. Now I don't really have a horse in the race but am leaning towards Edwards and hoping Big Al jumps in.

He's the only one with the guts to do what's right. Dean as a candidate would put impeachment on the table. As party leader he cannot.

9. John Edwards is number one with me. Although Gore getting in, would be great.
Does anyone remember or have a link to how the '04 candidates polled in Dec 03?

Do I remember correctly that John Kerry was really, really, really, down in the polls in Nov/Dec. 03?

18. What an odd thing to say. What do you have against Dean supporters?
Why are there two posts about him in GDP right now asking such questions.

I found your remark very insulting. But then no one called you on it because there are not many of us left here after the last primary.

16. Only Obama, Gore, or Kucinich for me in the primary
Like Dean in 2004, they're the only ones who clearly and strongly opposed this war from the start. This issue is a great test of the judgement of these candidates. On other issues, we can debate the right course, but on this war there was little doubt among those with good judgment that it was the wrong thing to do.
Between these 3, I'm making my choice based on who has the best chance of winning, and right now that's Obama. If Gore runs, that will probably change.

23. Wait a minute
Only five votes for Kucinich, wait a minute I thought he was DU's golden boy and that everyone would votes for him, next to Mike Gravel.

Now aside from me being a massive dick in this thread(and believe me I have good reason for my attitude) i'm leaning towards Obama but if Gore announces i'll drop him like a hot potato.

Gore/Dean would be my dream ticket. Seriously, he should be the V.P. for anyone. He has built the ground organization from virtually nothing. He would deliver an enormous amount of votes.

Supported and voted for Kucinich in Indiana primary even though Kerry had already secured the nomination.

Family supported Dr. Dean for the nom, but voted for Kerry in the GE. I am saving myself for (Pres.) Gore or The General, but will vote for the Dem nom whoever that will be. As far as who for the primary, I honestly hafta wait a while longer to sort it all out.

33. Obama
It's not a surprise that a majority of the Dean supporters gravitate towards Obama, Edwards, or a prospective Gore run.

My #1 choice is Gore, but I don't think he's getting in. I truly believe the 2nd best option is Obama, and then Edwards.

37. I support Kucinich and will, work for him in the California Dem primary,
assuming he is still in the race. My fallback position is John Edwards. I've been very impressed with him in the two candidate forums I've seen him appear in. Obama left me unmoved and Hilary is a war criminal (or at least enabled war criminals and shows no remorse over having done so. That pretty much makes her a war criminal.)

38. Obama is better that the other two based on IWR alone.
Edited on Sat Jul-21-07 02:51 PM by JVS
True, he wasn't in a position to vote on it or not, but I can't hold the fact that he wasn't in congress as proof that he'd have fucked up as badly as the other two. Edwards has at least admitted he was wrong on that vote, so he gets partial credit. Edwards' poverty tour is also a good thing, but I think he's got no chance to win the primaries. I don't consider this group to be a good crop. I'm undecided and underwhelmed.
