Bush and Cheney Break The Law AGAIN
Edited on Fri Jun-01-07 05:31 AM by RestoreGore
And this is exactly what The Assault On Reason explains. And I wrote this to Mr. Gore in a letter years ago when I stated that once we allowed them to STEAL THE ELECTION IN 2000, they knew they could take more, and they have and will. And if you look at the headline on this it has about as much urgency to it as announcing a sale at Macy's. What has happened to this country when they can blantatly break the law in our faces and we do NOTHING?

So I will say it again: IMPEACH!!!

White House follows new path to secrecy
By PETE YOST, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - A newly disclosed effort to keep Vice President Dick Cheney's visitor records secret is the latest White House push to make sure the public doesn't learn who has been meeting with top officials in the Bush administration.

Over the past year, lawyers for President Bush and Cheney have directed the ecret Service to maintain the confidentiality of visitor entry and exit logs, declaring them to be presidential records, exempt from a law requiring their disclosure to whoever asks to see them.

The drive to keep the logs secret, the administration says, is essential to assuring that the president and vice president receive candid advice to carry out their duties.

Cabinet officers often don't want to give up their meeting calendars to journalists. They have no choice under the Freedom of Information Act, which provides public access to some records kept by federal agencies.

But the FOIA disclosure law, which doesn't apply to Congress, also doesn't apply to presidential records.

The Bush administration has exploited that difference, triggering a battle in the courts.

END OF EXCERPT

5. well, Dickhead IS the pRes so what's the fuss about? (sarcasm) If he's getting "candid advice"
from experts, there should be no problem with opening the books on who's visiting.

I wonder who he's getting advice from, then? Mafia? al Qaeda? Who??? :wow:
