are congressional "democrats" in a stronger or weaker political position today
than they were a week ago?

IMHO, they are not only piss-poor "democrats," but are also utterly pathetic politicians

1. weaker, though they may think otherwise
they've let down the folks who sent them to Washington to end the illegal invasion in big, big way, IMO.

worse, their groveling before the unitary executive means they'll be in an even weaker political position come the next "showdown"

they are not leaders but rather led around by the nose by right wing talking points they refuse to rebut then use them as their excuse. Maybe this is the way they want it, when the were in the minority they said they couldn't do anything until they were in the majority, now their majority isn't big enough. This isn't the way to get a bigger majority, by ignoring the people who voted for an end to the war, the majority of Americans.

7. Dems are weaker.
Bush called their bluff, and they caved in. Knowing this, going forward he will abuse this over and over again.

I can't even think of words to describe how unhappy I am with the Democrats in Congress right now.

10. I think they have lost a lot of support
Look at everyone here, we are all pissed off. Everyone who voted for them in November 2006 is most likely pissed off too. Many of those are swing voters, they may have lost them.

Plus, now the republicons can bash them all they want.

They have shown they have no spine, are beholden to the Republicans to possibly overrise the chimp. Which means they must give away nearly everything to placate them and when they won't play ball, they have no cards left.

They are spineless and should be fired.

All of them need to be replaced.

100% turnover.
Fresh start.

FIRE ALL THE GOVERNMENT!

ALL OF THEM.

Even those that voted NO must go, as they all are part of the problem. ALL OF THEM.
