She actually believes that the new daylight savings time rules made daylight last longer, increasing global warming. A liberal plot. Oh, the humanity.

Daylight exacerbates warning

You may have noticed that March of this year was particularly hot. As a matter of fact, I understand that it was the hottest March since the beginning of the last century. All of the trees were fully leafed out and legions of bugs and snakes were crawling around during a time in Arkansas when, on a normal year, we might see a snowflake or two. This should come as no surprise to any reasonable person. As you know, Daylight Saving Time started almost a month early this year. You would think that members of Congress would have considered the warming effect that an extra hour of daylight would have on our climate. Or did they ? Perhaps this is another plot by a liberal Congress to make us believe that global warming is a real threat. Perhaps next time there should be serious studies performed before Congress passes laws with such far-reaching effects.

14. I think it may be real
Catwoman posted this yesterday. There's a newspaper scan and message #43 has a link

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=743625&mesg_id=744914

I searched the internets yesterday to see if this was a hoax. I didn't find anything on snopes, etc.

17. I saw it on Catwoman's thread and said pretty much the same thing
then.

I still think it's a delicious sendup, written by someone subtly poking fun at the mentality of the wingnuts. It's so grammatical, so eloquent, so nicely constructed. I think it's getting exactly the reaction the writer intended.

19. Yes. If it were written by a real wingnut, it would not be so grammatical.
Something that the satirists still need to get straight.

7. I'm sure someone will notify Connie
That the law enacting the earlier start for daylight saving time was passed by Congress in 2005, and signed by President Bush. Although someone this stone-brained probably doesn't comprehend the idea of a law enacted in one year not taking effect until another one. And that thunder is the sound of the angels bowling.

11. That has GOT to be a joke, right?
And when we set the clocks BACK an hour, in the fall, notice how it starts to get COLDER outside?

Now, all we have to do is set the clocks BACK an hour in the Spring, and FORWARD an hour in the Fall... and the whole planet will remain a comfortable temperature all year long!

Also, you can reduce Global Warming by measuring the temperature in Centigrade rather than Fahrenheit.
