Poll question: Will Al Gore run for President in 2008?
I don't think he will. DU needs to understand that. Just IMO. oh yeah... and same goes for Clark.

3. Here's how I know he won't
Remember that sham hit piece about Gore's HUGH energy bill? It would have been so easy for Gore to have gone on a few cable talk shows, do a few press conferences, and explain to the average TV viewer that his bill is only representative of how much money Al spends, and that the Gore house runs on 100% GREEN energy. As stupid as it was, that story got a lot of attention, and if Gore was planning to run for office, he would have addressed it immediately.

However, Gore didn't release a single public statement, as far as I know. He just ignored it. That's proof to me that Gore is out of the political game.

6. Gore's statement has been at the bottem of most of the stories
about his usuage (a claim made by a RW spin machine btw, as can be read about in the paragraphs following the ones I've quoted below. not to mention addressed on DU when this nonsense hit the fan. :))

Missing from much of the coverage is a response from the Gore camp. The liberal blog Think Progress, though, has a statement from the former veep's office. Among the points they make:

• "Gore's family has taken numerous steps to reduce the carbon footprint of their private residence, including signing up for 100% green power through Green Power Switch, installing solar panels, and using compact fluorescent bulbs and other energy saving technology."

• "Gore has had a consistent position of purchasing carbon offsets to offset the family's carbon footprint -- a concept the right-wing fails to understand."

ABC News adds that Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider says both the former vice president and his wife Tipper work out of the mansion -- activity that presumably pushes up electricity use there.

7. I wish he would!
I support him as strong now as I did in 2000 (I worked for the campaign) In fact I support him even stronger now. The fact is he is enjoying his role as an outsider now and so I think it will take a ground swell of pressure by other Dems to get him interested. I think this would be his race to lose and none of the other candidates are of his stature.
