7. You just gave me yet another reason to hope a Dem wins in 2008.
If a Dem wins in 2008 it will make for a much more peaceful 2010-2011 around here.

Or maybe not.....

8. Whoever wins in 2008 will be up for reelection
I know there was some sarcasm in your post, but I have seen many other posts discussing 2012 that are not sarcastic. To me it seems absolutely ridiculous to talk about running a new candidate in 2012, while we are trying to get someone will be up for reelection in 2012. So I suppose once people realize that they will be asking about 2016, and obviously it is way too early to know what serious candidates we will have that far out.

6. I find it mind-boggling...
there's so much interest in candidates and who one will vote for, but none in insuring that the votes count. I guess it really doesn't matter who wins or loses, it's all about the game.
